All jokes aside I get told what to do all day (boss, wife, government, etc). I'm not going to have some money hungry self righteous sweaty nerds tell me how to play a game in my spare time. Bungie needs to realize players are not their minions/subject. We're paying customers and if they keep showing us disrespect (a lot of their updates and interviews), people will just get tired of it and leave. Maybe not now but by year 4 or 5, their antics won't be received as well.

They realize that they screwed up. . . by making the Gjallarhorn way too OP in the first place. and now that they are looking at implementing new weapons that they know are going to be measured against Gjallarhorn, Ice Breaker, and Black Hammer, they realize that they have to take action now, before this becomes a runaway-power problem.

I was more referring to the LFG thing. I don't really care if they change their weapon design (even though I wish they wouldn't).

I think people are getting a little too tied up in the whole LFG aspect of Deej's comments in the update, that was merely an artifact of the underlying issue that they know needs to be fixed, and they know that the longer they wait, the bigger the backlash will be, so they have chosen to bite the bullet now in favor of getting the weapon sandbox to a manageable state before TTK.

I understand their opinion/argument even while I don't agree with their conclusion. What I do have a problem with is their contempt with the player base. You can see it in their off the cuff remarks (for a golf clap emote you would throw money at the screen) and snarky updates. They are very disrespectful for a company who's primary source of income is us.
