Auto Rifles:
I am happy to see these get a buff. My only question is, Is the general buff to damage going to stack with the buff to damage against AI? Either way it needs the damage. I'm happy to see this. As for the range falloff? Good. The weapon diversity in this game is hindered by almost everything having just a little more range than it should have.
Pulse Rifles
Not much to say about them. The nerf is so minor and specific that it's not a big issue. As someone that loves red death and the messenger, I am still excited to see that the armor stat actually matters now. Also having a larger magazine is amazing.
Scout Rifle
More ammo and more damage to AI. I liked scout rifles before and I am thrilled to see this. I am curious if it will effect the field scout perk.
Hand Cannons
Between the Rang nerf, less zoom, and the reduced magazine, I am curious how this will play out. No one really uses hand cannons that are not exotics. Also, there are hand cannons out there that only have 3 shots. Time will tell about how hard this nerf hits.
Shotguns
I'm happy to see the range reduced. Actually, I don't think happy is the right word. I'm content with it. I feel that the shotgun range was not nearly as much of an issue as the map design was. The maps are small and cluttered.
Fusion Rifles
It looks like these are designed now to be shotgun killers. Their range is just enough to kill them, but just shy of easily one hitting something a fair distance away.
Snipers
If you are a sniper that requires a bullet to one-shot on the body to kill, then I'm glad it was nerfed. Snipers are designed to be extremely lethal at a long range, but at the cost of actually needing skill.
Rockets
Larger blast radius is appreciated. The one thing I would like to see further done on the grenades and horseshoe perk is not activate it until it's far enough away not to blow yourself up. This becomes especially annoying when the thrall runs up behind you as you are aiming down sights.
Exotic Weapons
Hardlight It should actually be useful now.
Necrochasm With it's rate of fire, the magazine should be closer to 72-80 to be on par with it's legendary counterparts.
TLW Nerfed while aiming down sights, and buffed while hip firing. This makes it better fill the role it was intended.
ThornReducing thorns DoT by 1/3 scared me since it applied to PvE... until I saw that it now stacks 5 times. This weapon might actually find use outside PvP for me (Since it has to compete with raid primary weapons)
Hawkmoon Total bullshit that the Xbox players won't ever have the chance to use it in it's glory days. That said, with the odds being so low originally, I don't feel this will impact much.
Ice BreakerI rarely ever used this weapon. I felt that the ammo supply was just long enough not to warrant using it. Now it's ridiculously long. This weapon didn't need this.
NLB Not sure this buff was enough. My largest complaint wasn't about how it shot, more that it's ammo capacity was abysmal. And when you did find ammo, it was never enough. I feel like this needs "Find more ammo" perk added as it's "Bonus perk"
Black Hammer This one is interesting because of how severe the nerf appears. My overall opinion is... eh, alright. Why? Because it is a legendary. It's a legendary that made the Ice Breaker feel obsolete. The fact that they buffed the ammo capacity also is generous. For everyone saying this weapon is now useless. 18 round magazine x 3 players = 54 shots without ever having to reload.Septiks Prime, the Devil Walker, and most bosses are still going to crumble over the damage dealt by this. At the very least, now using one of your special ammo synths will make this a non-issue.
Lord of Wolves
Maybe just instantly start healing you and nearby allies would be a better perk? Honestly I haven't ever used lord of wolves, so I have no idea how beneficial it was or will be.
Gjallerhorn
A nerf to this weapon. Alright. The damage increase it had over other weapons wasn't anything outlandish. What I felt made it an overall amazing weapon is that it had everything I wanted in a rocket launcher: tracking, prox detonation, and 7 round capacity. The wolfpack rounds will be an interesting component to see just how much it is nerfed.
Overall opinion This looks like a solid weapon rebalance and I am looking forward to seeing how everything pans out.
