Bungie is addressing the source of the problem, and that is that weapon balance cannot be achieved as long as there are clear meta weapons at play. I understand that destiny is a loot based game, with many variables. But we need to be rational. Gjallarhorn was incredibly powerful, even by rocket launcher stardards. I understand that it is an exotic, but it should not warrent a dead boss in less than 30 seconds. Imagine developing a boss fight with mechanics to make it a fun, challenging, and most importantly, rewarding. But instead is melted away in a swarm of wolfpack rounds before the mechanics can even proc. This was a serious issue. And we as a community need to realize that this was a necessary step if bungie wants to give us more fun and challenging content in the future. They want us to try Thunderlord, Truth, Etc. These weapons will no longer be overshadowed by Gjally. And they can add new interesting exotics in the future to serve different roles. Now I can't justify the icebreaker and black hammer nerf. But what they are doing in terms of weapon balance is making sense. No weapon class is really being completely left in the dark. (Except maybe fusion rifles) but Thorn and the last word are still functional and will still be a blast to use. Auto rifles are naking a return not to dominate, but to compete again. Pulses and Hand cannons are still very viable options. This is a step forward in my opinion and this is what destiny needed to preserve it's longevity. And before anyone says it. Yes I have a ballerhorn, had one since week 4. I love it but I'm willing to sacrifice it for the greater good. I know bungie can't please everyone, but I support them in this patch. Most of what they are doing is through player feedback. Granted some complain more than others. I'm not one of them. I'm just rolling with the punches because I really love destiny... tell me what you guys think.
