It was a legendary performing greater than any exotic. It allowed for you to be using essentially two exotics at once. It's sad but makes perfect sense

My cydonia AR3 out performs my necrochasm. Your first point is invalid. About the having two exotics at once, fatebringer is the only Hand cannon in the game with firefly and is so strong that it feels exotic. Why not add that to the list? Fun fact. Raid weapons usually out perform exotics. Vision of confluence is better than MIDA. Fatebringer is better than thorn and TLW in PvE. Light of the Abyss is better than Plan C. I could go on.
