My theory, to make us utilize the new weapons that will be coming out. Bungie said, "that it would be pretty boring if you were to use the same guns for 10 years". I might be wrong though. If that was the case, I think we should be granted the ability to preserve one or two guns; kinda like a legendary weapon that has been passed down,, nostalgic for sure!

I agree with this theory, but why destroy them when they can just not allow ascension and let them fall off on their own. It's borderline retarded.

Yeah, you're right I think. There will be better weapons coming out. I also heard around the rumor mill that rerolling is being removed. I can totally get behind that. Same perks on every weapons is annoying.

I think you're correct. They should of never allowed upgrading in the first place. It would of forced people to use newer weapons.

As long as PlayStation has exclusive content weapons will be upgradeable otherwise they would become irrelevant.
