Same reason they nerfed Gjallarhorn. Too much GGEZ mode. Makes content too easy and boring, the nerfs are intended to make us to learn the flow of each fight and utilize other weapons rather than just nuking the boss until it dies in a minute or two. I don't mind it, adapting to new challenges is what makes this game fun for me.
