Won't the Gjally nerf backfire?
Now with Gjally's wolfpack rounds getting nerfed and its effectivity reduced. I've thought about something: won't most people want even more people with a gjally after the nerf? Before, few people would accept others without it because they already had enough firepower to deal with the objective.
After the nerf have been applied, I believe the it will only promote even more elitism amongst the already toxicated player base. Everytime I visit the LFG forums a lot of the post contain a "must have gjally" requirement.
By nerfing the wolfpack rounds, people will feel the need to only accept gjallys to accumulate for the nerf introduced, thus resulting a backfire to this nerf's original intent. To eliminate exclusivity.
Any thoughts?
Edit 1: To admit, I've never owned a Gjally before and I've played since day one. I have already had much trouble trying to get into a raid or PoE team.

Makes sense, but your assuming people will still buy ttk with such a horrible sandbox update coupled with little new content worth doing.

1 ReplyWhat bothers me most, is the reasoning they have used. Basically saying it was because they never intended to have a weapon that would see guardians excluded for not having it. I'm calling bull crap on that. If that was the reason then all they had to do was put it back in Xur's inventory.

The gally and the black hammer nerfs are the only ones I am really upset about. The black hammer is only useful in certyain situations and with the nerf they will just make it useless cause there will be better choices and pretty much the same with the gally nerf the wolf pack rounds and if I am thinking correct it will be a fancy hunger of crota but take a exotic slot. Also I don't use it much but the ice breaker nerf is pointless and will only make strikes and such last a few minutes longer from people waiting on ammo.

Yes, it now makes it even more critical to have as many Gjallies as possible. A better way to achieve the intended result would have been to slightly buff all other rocket launchers.

I have a gally on each character and have no issues throwing hunger of crota on my shoulder. If they nerf Gally I will probably just stick it in the locker like the other exotics they nerfed. They take the exotic out of exotics yet leave then so only 1 can be equipped at a time. I am surprised they didn't say they were taking tracking off the truth cause its tracking works so good.

1 ReplyIf you read the whole update gally is really not getting nerfed at all.It will get the same buff to the blast which will cover what is lost with the wolf pack nerf unless they nerf the wolf pack rounds to just a show item.

It won't really do anything apart from make boss kills take a bit longer. Those who have one won't dismantle it to make more room for something else. Those that don't have one will just carry on using whatever it was they used before (unfortunately that may be Icebreaker or Blackhammer that they have also nerfed). If they want variety try giving us enough vault space to store more weapons. Without that everyone will just carry on using their old favorites. It's just the AR saga again - you are using it too much to we will try and ruin it to stop you. Play the game any way you want as long as it is the way we tell you.

I haven't had my gjally long just got it when HoW dropped but I think the nerf is great. The gamage will be closer to other rockets and it will give the chance to use other exotics that haven't seen much use.

No, it will make it closer to being just like every other rocket launcher....so having one in your group won't really matter anymore...problem is that the fire teams firepower in general will go down. Sounds like they're also trying to make the game much more difficult by not raising damage of other weapons.

10 RepliesI won't do raids with anyone without Ghally now, sorry. Not fair and sounds douche like but, I'd rather make up the damage I lost for the nerf. Also let me know when a heavy surpasses Ghally.
