As if extreme elitism already wasn't a problem. This is what's actually going to happen: the same people that are already requiring Gjallerhorn aren't gonna change, and neither are the people who aren't requiring it. Not sure where people are getting this, "More people are going to require Gjallerhorn," idea, cause literally nothing else about the situation has changed.
Someone who doesn't require Gjallerhorn isn't suddenly going to because it got nerfed, that makes no sense.
Someone who does already require Gjallerhorn is... well, already doing so.

I've never required gally since week 2 when I bought my first from xur, always let people join the crota raids without one. But now I say -blam!- it, all you bastards ruined my favourite gun in the game. 2 other users posted something very similar btw one said "never had gally as a requirement but will refuse to play with anyone without one now" The other said "I just got my first gally after nearly a year of grinding. I was so happy, now I feel gutted that's it's all going to have been for nothing"
-
LOL Then I'd rather not play with stingy, entitled, probably terrible players like that. If someone tells me, "No, you can't play with me because you don't have Gjallerhorn," then I'll say, "Okay," and move on. It's not the end of the world if a boss takes longer than 30 seconds.

You miss the point, many many players that did not care before (including myself) will be booting non gally wielding players. For 2 reasons. A big -blam!- you to bungie thinking they get the right to decide how we organise teams. And a big -blam!- you to all the moaning bitches that cried because they couldn't get one. Other MMO games that have in-game LFG can use filters for certain levels/gear requirements. And those that didn't meet the requirements were automatically locked out of joining any groups. So if other MMO games that are successful have it. Whys it such a problem for us?
-
This exactly!
-
It's literially bungie saying "you can't decide who has what weapons in your team, we'll just nerf them all" I honestly couldn't care now if they did a 70% nerf on it, still won't let anyone join.
-
Yup, I'm getting that feeling too. -blam!- this shit!
-
Unfortunately I found out yesterday that my 2 remaining friends from launch have cancelled their TTK preorder. The nerfs aren't the only reason but just in general being very bored. Bungie shot themselves in the foot going toe to toe with star wars/fallout etc all within a month. I only play as it's fun with my friends, we sherpa people through raids and stuff to feel like we're helping, but I'm not going to be bothered about it anymore.

So you're not taking into account that people without the Gjally might have a chance to get one? Even if a small percentage of non-Gjally owners convert to this Gjally elitism, it'll keep growing. Take into account all possibilities bro!
