Bungie nerfs Gjally, Gjally still reigns supreme.
Gjally does less DPS, so it'll become more relevant, since everyone in your fireteam will need one to output as much DPS as possible.
More and more posts with Gjally only will emerge on LFG.
JOB WELL DONE BUNGIE! Or am I missing something?
@Deej or @Cozmo : you're reading this? Elitism will prevail unfortunately. Go report that back to your game designers ;-)
Let me make it easy for you, lets say we need 225k damage to kill a boss. Gjally does 9k while other rockets do 6k. Everyone has 5 rockets, so a gjally user would do 45k damage, while a non gjally user will do 30k damage. Right now we need 3 gjally users and 3 different rockets to kill him. Now if we make ghorn do 40k per 5 shots, we'll need 4 gjally users and 2 regular rocket launchers and some extra shots from primary to kill it. Most people would go for the easy way where they don't need to shoot extra shots with primaries, that would mean people would require 5 gjallys to do what could've been done with 3 gjallys in the past.[
Important note: the patch hasn't come out yet, we're discussing different outcomes. Who knows what will happen next.

Your forgetting DB has just as good damage in the initial rocket and can deal D.O.T that can match wolfpacks hate to burst your bubble. P.S to all those who believe I m just a hater cuz I don't have 1 I already have 2 gallies
-
So.....ur forming groups of people using nerfed weapons....?
-
Edited by HARDCOR3 H3RO: 7/18/2015 11:16:42 AMexcept that most of the LFG elitists who demand players have Gjallarhorn, already demand all the players to have Gjallarhorn, and are too ignorant to do any sort of calculations to try and determine how many players are required to have Gjallarhorn to do any specific amount of damage. As for the LFGers who never demanded Gjallarhorn, It's not like they are going to start demanding it now that it has less of an impact on overall success.
-
I was never an elitist, until Bungie announced they're nerfing my baby because of whiners. Now I am an elitist.
-
So there is no problem with it being nerfed then? Since there's no change. (Also you could get real friends instead of using lfg)

Edited by fets81: 7/18/2015 10:29:36 AMImo the reason why elitism will get worse after the nerf is simply because rather than people asking for gally they will instead be asking for "must have completed "X" on hard mode" Gally would allow players with lesser ability to get into raids and also allowed other to carry people through and now people are going to be less inclined to do so and therefore it could push raids more in the direction that to0 is now Personally I don't think the nerf is that bad but I do think that this could backfire and exacerbate the issue rather than solve it, at the end of the day the more you try to balance a op pve weapon the more you risk isolating those players who for whatever reason lack certain skills, so the end result will be a slight reduction in the "must have gally" and a increase in the "git gud scrub" and I don't see how that's better, your just replacing one form of elitism with another

Use the no land beyond instead
-
Boycotted Bungie, deleted the pre-order of The Taken King. ..... Want war and war is. The money is ours, we decide what we like and what does not
-
Fun fact: Gjallarhorn isn't actually NEEDED for anything.
-
Players could just learn the game and not fall back on game breaking weapons
-
Welp lets hope TTK will have cool stuff
-
Sadly g-horn owners that complain look like divas. So instead of 5 rockets to kill a boss, now it requires... 6! Oh the humanity!
-
Just great destiny is now driving the wedge between players with G horns and those without. It's now clear I won't carry any other guardians through vog or crota.
-
totally agree!!! omg seriously Bungie didnt see how this patch will dramatically increase the distance between who owns gjally and who doesnt!!!! im sending regular messages to my friends begging them to do everything to get soon a gjally cuz after the patch will come true nobody will let them join a raid or poe anymore. bungie nerfing the gjally will be the fatal step so think about it.
-
And the more you dumbass elitists keep kicking people for not having Gjallerhorn, the more they're going to nerf it until you stop.

Well that's what's going happen because people cried about not getting one and as you said it's going make things alot worse And alls I will say is r yous proud of yourselfs
-
Well what would you have done? Forums scream to nerf it because if they dont have it the elites will kick anyone without it...... So they do....and now somehow it will make that situation worse? I guessed they should have buffed it instead
-
Hezen Vengeance anyone?
-
Is gally being nerfed? I never even got a chance to have one! Sucks
-
I'm sad they are nurfing wolf pack rounds. There's been so many times I'd be doing Confluxes and the guy in mid was getting overwhelmed with ads so I'd just fire a couple gallys over and clear them now the wolf pack rounds will just tickle them :(
-
You know I love my Gally, but, at this point, after reading the forums the last two days, I really hope they nerf the hell out of it. Too many people threatening to hamper others' experience because a rocket launcher, which makes all other heavies completely superfluous, is rightfully getting toned down.
-
Yeah they nerfed Gjallarhorn to late. Now the elitism will grow. I have a Gjallarhorn, but I never want to join a group that is telling people to have one.
