Bungie nerfs Gjally, Gjally still reigns supreme.
Gjally does less DPS, so it'll become more relevant, since everyone in your fireteam will need one to output as much DPS as possible.
More and more posts with Gjally only will emerge on LFG.
JOB WELL DONE BUNGIE! Or am I missing something?
@Deej or @Cozmo : you're reading this? Elitism will prevail unfortunately. Go report that back to your game designers ;-)
Let me make it easy for you, lets say we need 225k damage to kill a boss. Gjally does 9k while other rockets do 6k. Everyone has 5 rockets, so a gjally user would do 45k damage, while a non gjally user will do 30k damage. Right now we need 3 gjally users and 3 different rockets to kill him. Now if we make ghorn do 40k per 5 shots, we'll need 4 gjally users and 2 regular rocket launchers and some extra shots from primary to kill it. Most people would go for the easy way where they don't need to shoot extra shots with primaries, that would mean people would require 5 gjallys to do what could've been done with 3 gjallys in the past.[
Important note: the patch hasn't come out yet, we're discussing different outcomes. Who knows what will happen next.

If people quit blaming the Lfg crowd and instead found friends of their own......
-
Maybe TTK will have an exotic rocket launcher that does more than Gally, I hope so at least.
-
The crying from non gjallerhorn owners caused this nerf... Nobodys in my clan without gjallerhorn I refuse to play with you crybabies who called for its nerf .. No Galla ? No game

Or since Gally won't be as good people will realize that there are other weapons that can take down bosses and make it more fun that spamming a rocket launcher
-
I wish I could give away 4 of the 5 Gjallarhorns I have. It's an amazing weapon in pve and pvp. I've read that it has grenades and horseshoes as a hidden perk but I never really noticed.
-
If people exclude me from a fireteam because I'm not using my ghorn, then they lost a good player. I never use my ghorn, even during solar burn. Why when I can use vex mythoclast or voc? My reasoning is because the boss' aren't difficult to fight, it's the enemies that spawn with it that make it difficult. Hence a strong primary or secondary is better overall, for me. Plus an extended mag high impact lmg is quite the effective weapon. If it takes an extra minute to kill the boss, so be it.

I saw this coming when they announced the nerf and it will happen just watch it
-
... You do realize saying this'll make the problem worse is more likely to make them think the nerf doesn't go far enough rather than to abort it
-
The only elitism it will create will be bad players still trying to hold on to a crutch. They should be easy to identify and thus stay away from.
-
If I'm fire team leader and someone joins without Gjallarhorn then some other guy tells me to kick him, I'm going to kick the one who suggested such a stupid thing.
-
Why not just remove the tracking from G'horn and add it to the dragon breath, waalaa you have 2 awesome Solar RL. Problem solved
-
Then it should be nerfed completely. I would not mind seeing Ghorn going the way of the auto rifle (nerf).
-
This post makes zero sense. If the total damage from gally is lowered, it makes it closer to the damage output of other rockets. The delta between them will now be much lower and the need/desire to have someone with it will go down because it isn't as overpowered. The only elitism it will create is because of people who think they actually NEED it for anything in PVE anyways.
-
Lol they can nerf the gally into the ground, but you best have that beautiful trophy equipped if you want in.. Whiners your welcome!
-
Unless you have the right gear that gives you 7 rockets
-
I don't agree with the gally nerf as much as the next person does.... but the way I look at it is like this: PvE crutch is gally as much as PvP crutch was Thorn.
-
It already has. I didn't care what guns people used, now, I won't even play a level 8 strike with you unless you have one.
-
am i the only one that thinks a boss with some sort of "blast shield" that negates rockets would be fun as hell?
-
This is such a dumb theory. The only people who believe this are the ones who make the "ghorn only" lfg posts. Bringing it closer to the damage of other launchers will make it so it's not that big of a difference if someone doesn't have one. People who think like you are the people who need to just stop playing anyway.

It's a simple answer because lfg elitism isn't why Ghorn is getting nerfed. If they wanted to fix that they'd add in game matchmaking. A full team of Gjallarhorns blaze through content, fully exposing how artifically difficult high level pve activities are. So they nerf Ghorn to make players take their time and their bullet sponges seem to be actually challenging. More time in game. In fact the fewer people that have Ghorn the better because that's a lot of endgame activities you have to grind for it. If increased lfg elitism is an unintended consequence then they won't care as it only benefits them with more players grinding.
-
Everyone just needs to ball out with dragons breath. :)
-
Did some v.dragon strikes recently. Games with Gally the boss is dead within a minute. Games without it takes about 5 mins
-
Never been the type to kick someone because they didn't have it. My boys never kicked me. Imma day one player who didn't get his first Gjallarhorn until March. I've also never seen a raid fireteam that required every person to have one. Usually 2 will do the job just fine as long as it's in the right hands. If people were posting asking for Gjallarhorn only out was probably because they already had people without it and needed am extra. The first week of TTK will be bad for the majority of people without it, but after a couple weeks it'll go back to normal.
