I assume it is the same reasoning that backs the nerfs to Gjallarhorn, Ice breaker, and Shot guns. They made a lot of content ludicrously simple. Blackhammer is in the same boat.
It is an exotic tier perk that probably should not have been there in the first place.
Personally, I will be looking for a sniper rifle with Triple tap or replenish to take it's place.

So what's the point in still playing if all the time to level up puts me on the same playing field as someone that just started playing this game. Destiny does not know how to make a mmorpg cross bread. They're screwing the grinders by making them equal to the new players. It really is a fail I hindsight. Years down the road we'll see how their actions made this game a 1 year game and not the 10 year game they thought out would be. Quote me on this. Lol

If they don't take away the weapons that help people cheese everything they develop, then this game will not last. I am guessing that in a few months we will find out that our current legendaries have reached their use by date. I doubt we will be taking our Fatebringers and Black Hammers with us into the future. Don't grind. Play.

Don't grind. Play.[/quote] Using these weapons aren't "cheesing" but i see what you're saying. You just don't realize that this gambling simulator is based on grinding for some reason. Think about every gun or armor you ever wanted in this game and tell me it doesn't require allot of grinding. :)

If it ever feels like I am grinding, I stop. Early on, I realised how Random the loot distribution was, and stopped chasing weapons. I got what I got, and made do with that. I did hard VoG without ice breaker. I had multiple Hard Crotas clears before I even saw a Gjallarhorn. I hardly even use Blackhammer - I got it on my first Crota run. I got my first Fatebringer 8 months into the game. I actually like to shoot stuff. I have a good fun clan and we Raid, PvP, PoE or whatever. But I hate grinding. I refuse to do it.
