Since it's release in September of last year, the video game Destiny, Bungie's newest venture, has been extremely popular with people of all ages. Is this coincidence, a smash hit, or something more sinister from the legendary game designers?
Skipping the boring part of the article and getting straight to the meat of it:
Perhaps Bungie's commercial success with the legendary Halo franchise has made them desperate to build up a larger and more dedicated fan base than newer rival 343 Industries, the part of the company that stayed with Microsoft, and the legendary franchise. This may have led to the questionable decisions by Bungie on gameplay and storyline that are affecting the unusually young audience (Brought in by the game's "Teen" rating from the ESRB) in a detrimental way, beyond the evils of a regular first person shooter.
The first way in which Destiny corrupts the youth of America is through the very idea of the main character, a member of an army blindly following a masked man called "The Speaker." Anyone who considers this at all sees the obvious real life parallel: Kim Jong Un and North Korea. This game teaches these young people to blindly follow a leader, possibly weakening their minds to North Korean propaganda.
A second risk caused by this game is an increase in suicide. In the game, a popular strategy is called "Wiping," where players agree to commit suicide (in game) to gain an advantage. This may desensitize children to the concept of suicide, as they respawn within a few seconds, actually better off than they were before. This teaches children that suicide is not only okay, but actually beneficial in some cases.
A final major issue is the introduction of a giant floating ball, called "The Traveller." Our expert researchers believe that this Traveller is designed to represent the Antichrist. It controls the Kim Jong Un-like Speaker, and leads them against an army of free people (Represented as inhuman monsters) in gory battles. It also grants them demonic powers, such as magical guns, knives, and other attacks. This evil magic should not be shown to the children of America, and should be treated as a serious threat to society.
Lol- thank you sir. I haven't been Rick rolled in years. Literally

Dream job right here. Imagine how amazing it would be to write for Fox News. Come on guys, getting top dollar to troll people would be the best.
The first way in which Destiny corrupts the youth of America...
I am sure if you replace "Destiny" with "Fox" you will find more arguments to make this quote more believable.

Edited by OuO_Whats_This: 10/14/2015 2:09:03 AMThe whole time I read this I couldn't get over the fact that these people never played destiny once and even THEY know the speaker is evil. Come on bungie just reveal his evil intentions already, we all know
-
I was reading this and I was like is this for fng real and then I clicked the link lol
-
Le bump
-
The only thing it's doing is ruining video games and making sucky scrubs think they're the best because they "earned" a Ghally
-
For some reason i wouldn't be surprised if fox really did do that

These comments are hilarious
-
:) so glad I brought this back
-
This pops up on my feed everyonce in a while, and every time i laugh because it's so obvious who has and hasn't checked the link.
-
I was laughing whole heartily until I got to the part where the article stated "players wipe to gain the advantage". The only time I've wiped is when someone messed up during a raid and it just makes sense to wipe and start over. How is this an advantage? It's more of an annoyance to me than anything else. To say it down plays suicide is just gross.
-
I think most older forms of media are scared of the video game industry. It also always seems they think only little kids play video games lol
-
Blindly following a leader = North Korea Yup, this has to be the parallel. We all know that no other nation on earth does this.
-
I thought this was made by 12 year old obsessed with CoD, oh wait.
-
You forgot that Fox News is a collective of biased Shites
-
+5 for you sir

Edited by The New Monarch: 10/14/2015 1:32:11 AMI'm in many ways a conservative, (more so moderate) but Fox News can be downright ridiculous...of course so are most sources of so called news. I plan to read this whole article but what is shown here is just hilarious! Destiny is easily one of the mildest and safest video games circulating right now, especially for a shooter. Edit: Hahaha...I just clicked the link! Nice work! And all the tags...wow I'm blind...lol

Omg... Demonic powers, languishing free ppl, their team of experts omfg, they have no idea what destiny is, must of been a slow day in the fox office, the sad thing is ppl will actually believe this is news, the Rupert Murdoch empire is the real evil hear, remember the phone hacking scandal? They flat out denied responsibility despite the overwhelming truth, so fox eat shit and die we are not listening,
-
I think that I have became a better person actually. I've been doing my homework before I get on, I know social skills thanks to LFG. I know how to talk to others thanks to LFG...and all in all Fox news is a bunch of bullshit...if they made a story on how destiny is racist the sheep of Fox News would agree without even trying the game.
