How do you feel about the new weapon balancing?

To be honest, I feel like most if not all the changes were good. Auto rifles have a chance to shine in PVP again. Looks like Hard Light is gonna be a BEAST in PVP. I think I'll being pulling out my Suros for the first time in about 5 months. Pulse and Scout rifles were relatively balanced already, so not too many major changes were made. You gotta admit, the Party Crasher, Matador, and Felwinters Lie had some RIDICULOUS range. I used a Matador myself for a little while, and I'll admit it was OP. It'll be nice to not be sniped from mid-range 24/7. Fusion rifles are nerfed yet again, but just like before, I'll ignore that and continue to love my Light/Beware. The final round nerf pretty much made the perk useless for PVP. The only case I could see it possibly being useful would be to snipe players mid-super, which would be quite challenging. Black Hammer got hit BIG TIME. No more infinite ammo in PVE :/ There goes my boss killer... Ice Breaker also received a nerf for its reload rate, which didn't make sense to me. I don't think Icebreaker was breaking [spoiler]ayy[/spoiler] the game, so why would they need to nerf the reload time? What does that change besides annoying the crap out of us? Hand cannon nerfs seemed fair. Nothing too extreme. Thorn should still be usable but not as OP. TLW had some ridiculous range, and that was addressed. Lastly, we have missile launchers. Legendary and down we have some slight buffs. But the Gally finally got nerfed. Hmmmm..... Though I will miss the ridiculously overpowered feeling of wielding such an awesome weapon, I do feel that the nerf was necessary. It had gotten to the point where it was the ONLY heavy weapon people would want/use in PVE. Also, when a weapon is so good people REQUIRE you to have one to join their fireteam, there's something wrong. I understand that some jimmies may be rustled, but know that this post isn't meant to troll, it's just to express my opinion. Good luck everyone, and have fun!

      It's alright, could anyone check out my efrideet because it might replace my black hammer for all PvE activities (it's on my Titan )

    • PURE NONSENCE Nerfing usefull ones because people dont like useless ones. Honestly i even saw in some thread there were fireteam who kick people because they did not have "jelly". Anyway both reasons are not reasson to nerf IB or TLW or Jelly. This nerf hammer should be stoped by one simple action and that is buff less viable stuff. Not nerfing the viable one. They thin they will fix situation by this but honestly they will only push other people to use another weapons. It is "Jelly" what is nerfed, later that will be trust, after that hunger and vengeance. They need the tweak weapons than only nerf them. Because they just cooking for another FoTM right now.

      Year 1 weapon nerfing money grab to make Year 2 weapons more powerful so you'd buy TTK and re-grind.

        • Can't wait to see what happens with necro since I finally got the crux and am grinding for a husk of the pit (I hate this mission now) and I'm glad autos are being buffed and shotguns nerfed a tiny bit My only problem with the update is the fact they're taking away ammo from HCs (which is kinda dumb) and ruining my fatebringer which isn't even a PvP weapon, and they're basically making Black Hammer useless now, also a bit bummed about the gally nerf but not gonna freak out over something so trivial, plus it's providing a lot of entertainment haha

              • I thought everything was perfect except for one thing....my beloved Black Hammer will now almost certainly ride the bench. There was no reason to remove infinite ammo. It was a sniper that rewarded accurate snipers. [spoiler]Except on those spider tank things...then Black Hammer is just unfair lol[/spoiler]

                  • AR: Glad to see the buff. I have 2 Hard Lights and 3 Suros Regime so the party is real. Fusion Rifles: The nerf is real even though it needs a buff. Shotgun: A buff and then a nerf. Wow! Ghorn: Thats what you plebs deserve! If you're going to exclude people from groups then Bungie will exclude your fun (Despite that its affecting others who don't). Thorn: Was going to eventually happen with a bunch of scrubs running around with it in PvP. BH: I never use it anyways so its not going to affect me in the slightest. IB: Camping nubs & scrubs trying to speedrun will no longer enjoy the IB as they once did.

                      Bungie went a tad overboard with some adjustments. Hawkmoon didn't even need to be touched outside of the bugged OHKO. It's merely a victim of the developer's poor decision-making with the other exotic HC's. Universal Remote is also going to get wrongly punished. Again. Other underwhelming exotics like Dreg's Promise and SGA remain untouched. Dragon's Breath is getting a slight boost to blast radius, but nothing that helps it substantially. BH/IB/G-Horn are getting gimped purely because they want us to spend more time shooting at big, dumb, boring bullet sponges who just waddle around. It's a subtle way to extend the grind. There's a lot of good stuff as well, but for me, this update is bittersweet, at best.

                        • All good except fusions were hurt badly. Shotgun behavior won't change much if at all because fusions were made worse again. Fusions should have received a pve bonus. Thorn is still outperforming its archetype by being a 3 body shot kill and having tracking with its dot but whatever. No more crutch but it'll still be a trials must have for teams in most cases because the dot stopping recovery is so strong. Gjally nerf was needed. Hard light s base recoil behavior is too crazy and needs a change in general. The gun doesn't feel good and I have other auto rifles that are the same archetype and have less stability but are easier to aim and maintain control. Adding stability won't change much. I love the buff to autos and scouts. Hand cannon needs were necessary except for the magazine reduction.

                        • Really good balance for PvP, aweful for PvE.... Icebreaker, BH = wtf??? Another giga nerf for Vex and Universal remote... And an undeserved one! The perk nerfs seems really bad to me, what's the point of having perks if then don't change anything? They want the weapons to be more alike = less variety... Odd and I disagree since I love to have variations of the same gun (say hello to my 9 red hands) Thorn is welcomed! Awesome to see NLB adressed

                          • I'm really curious to see how much damage is being knocked off of wolf pack rounds. If it's only a 10% reduce everyone's complaints are meaningless, but if it's like 50% that'll suck cause I just got my first one this week's nightfall

                            • Gjallahorn and icebreaker are the only parts that really bug me. Icebreaker didn't need nerfed. At all. Instead of nerfing Gjallahorn s wolf packs. How about boosting the blast radius of cluster bombs, so they all connect

                              • Personally I'm withholding judgment until I test these changes post-patch, get an actual feel for the buffs/nerfs. I'm at least glad to see what the intended ranges of weapons are supposed to be, as I was having a little difficulty understanding this concept.

                              • I wish they would focus on making pvp more skill based then weapon based. They should be balancing game mechanics before messing with weapons. Some weapons are "op" because of the absurdly high aim assist present in the game not to mention thats further enhanced by the new "improved target acquisition perks". They should disable aim assist for pvp, get rid of aim assist relevant perks and have the ability to turn it off in general for pve. Then they should worry about which weapons are in need of changing. Besides that, you cant reliably make assumptions based on whether the changes are "good or bad" when the update hasn't released yet. And to those complaining about ghally nerf: Wolfpack rounds are getting slightly lowered damage, but the overall blast radius of all rockets is getting increased. It about evens it out.
