They are trying to increase boss times. It seems in taken king that cabal tank will show up a few times. I can just about kill that thing before it lands bogey prob don't want players speed running the game like that.

I don't like it but I totally see why they did; admittedly all I did was sit back and just span head shots on bosses. For TTK, I can see them wanting 'forcibly' mix up the strategies for fighting rather than just sitting back and crit spamming everything. Side story: I read the patch changes to a fried who's been hunting Black Hammer for ages... I've never heard such a rage...

It's an infinite ammo sniper rifle... Really that hard to figure out. It now holds more ammo (18 shots) and although it pulls from reserve 18 shots no reloading is still OP lol why is everyone so upset?

Because pulling ammo from thin air makes no sense and people will just stun lock the boss with crits until he is dead. So by taking ammo from reserve you might run out and have to either use a synthesis or find some more special ammo if that's what you want to use. You can still fire without reloading you'll just have to pay attention to how much ammo you have now. Otherwise black hammer was basically an exotic. I actually wouldn't mind it being an exotic with the white nail perk.

Personally I think it's stupid that you can swap from another special to black hammer for a boss fight and endless stun lock the boss with the 3 bullets you have left. But I don't entirely agree with the black hammer changes. I would lower the impact so you can still constantly proc the White nail perk for infinite ammo which makes the unique and worth chasing. However the damage output would be lowered greatly and bosses couldn't be endlessly stun locked.

The gun will still be good, what other gun will be able to lay 18 rounds into a boss without reloading at all? That will still be very useful and effective. But there are a lot of reasons that will justify it: 1. People use it to cheese raids/strikes/missions. We are about to get new of all of those, the last thing bungie wants is us not to experience these new raids, missions, and strikes, and instead sit in the corner and snipe someone with infinite ammo. 2. How long can sitting in a corner infinitely sniping a boss stay fun? Allowing this hurts the replay ability of the game. Making the game more challenging, for most, makes the game more fun, and makes in replayable for much longer. 3. There is no way they can come up with a more powerful sniper whether exotic or legendary with this perk the way it is. Future games the best they could do to compete with what Black Hammer was would be to reskin it (then just let the complaining begin after that). Or never make a sniper as good again (then just let the complaining begin after that as well). To be honest they should have seen this issue before they even released the gun with infinite ammo, the real issue was giving us the gun in the first place, not the fixing of it. 4. The perk made it more powerful then all of the exotic snipers out there. People were effectively walking around with 2 exotic weapons equipped. 5. Just like Gjallarhorn, some people were using it as a requirement to party up with them, as in their reasoning with Gjallarhorn they do not want that happening with any weapons. I understand you liked the weapon how it is, and you enjoyed using it. But I would hope most people can at least see why it was done and understand it. There will be more weapons for you to grind for in the future, and there are plenty of other fun snipers out there to use right now.

Honestly didn't know why the black hammer had infinite ammo, got it the first week Crota came out as well as a few friends and we all figured it would be nerfed way sooner because it seemed ridiculous.
