I really don't see why this is getting nerfed at all. Who can convince me? It makes no sense...
-
The power is the same so technically not a nerf.
-
it's still great so...
-
totally agreed.. been chasing it ever since i first heard of it... still dont have it yet but now sounds like its not worth getting anymore... having seemingly infinite ammo made it stand out, now it makes no different what sniper we use anymore
-
I saw on another post a guy pointed out something people might be over looking. He stated that he thinks they are nerfing the PvE heavy weapons so that majority of people don't run through it in a few days. It makes sense. I saw on another post a guy pointed out something people might be over looking. He stated that he thinks they are nerfing the PvE heavy weapons so that majority of people don't run through it in a few days. It makes sense. Everyone tore through the HoWs. If people can use these "cheese" PvE weapons they will prob tear through TTK. It sort of depressing to think about as well. Bungie could be pulling the wool over our eyes again and this might not be as big of an expansion as they are making it out to be. This in community fighting is also helping their cause if this is the case.
-
The reason they nerfed it was because it was arguably better than icebreaker.
-
Really? The black hammer has unlimited amount and shreds most bosses. It replaced galley as the aethon slayer, that alone should give you a idea of why it got a need just like galley.
-
Just use special synth, increased mag size, job done...
-
Of all the nerfs, the black hammer and ice breaker are the most confusing. These are geared toward pve and worked nicely. Aside from making them irrelevant for the ttk, I can't understand the point of these nerfs other than trying to force people to move on from these weapons
-
the game is a ridiculous grind they should have left it alone
-
I guess it was stuff like this...
-
Black hammer is a legendary sniper rifle with a exotic perk. They are changing it to be a legendary sniper rifle with a legendary perk.
so tired of typing this today
Edited by CrudeDude: 7/17/2015 6:14:53 PMYou can thank everyone who complains like a little girl on here about nerfing every -blam!-ing weapon. Now they all suck!
-
Implemented to increase strike time. Black hammer was pretty useless outside of that.
-
It's situational, but in those situations it is borderline game-breakingly overpowered.
-
Black hammer was a cheese akin to pushing Templar off the map. There, justified
-
The fact that I could sit in open area no cover at Value Tauurc and just HS him about 48 times constantly staggering him without reloading.
-
It stunlocked bosses making them a joke. speaking from experience
-
I don't -blam!- g know it's going to be shit the only that would make it not shit is if it had a 6 round mag
-
It was better than any other exotic sniper. Let's be honest, we're lucky fatebringer didn't get nerfed as well.
-
Now there is officially no reason to run Crota normal. Black Hammer got nerfed. Since HoW dropped there are better options than Hunger and Swordbreaker mainly because of the reroll.
-
Arrrggghhh
-
How can people not understand an infinite ammo precission damage beast is not overpowered ... We had fun with it now move on
-
A smarter way to balance it would make it an exotic, that way you have to choose between a gellyhorn or an exotic hand cannon over an exotic black hammer. Stupid nerf but whatevs. I'll just use LDR or Efrideets Spear

Edited by ShadowKing292: 7/17/2015 6:34:00 AMThe fact that you could shoot a nearly infinite clip made it a trolling weapon in Crucible as well as a lawnmower in PvE. By nerfing the Black Hammer, they're balancing Crucible matches against people who own it, and making it so that you have to make a battle plan in PvE instead of going in guns blazing. They're finally turning Destiny into a game that requires skill and stretegy, and not just a shooting gallery where the only requirement is half a million ammo synthesis...
-
Because right, wrong or indifferent, it was never intended to be an infinite ammo gun. Being able to potentially put 18 rounds straight into a stationary or slow moving boss without stopping to reload is still devastating and many PVE bosses will still go down before you run out of ammo. But yes you will then have to go pick up a couple of green boxes or use a synth.... Oh the horror...
-
Yeah, its only gun capable of shooting the same target over and over without losing ammo or having to reload (the only thing that comes close is IB, and thats an exotic). Aka broken. Broken things need fixing.
