Can someone seriously justify the Black Hammer nerf?

I really don't see why this is getting nerfed at all. Who can convince me? It makes no sense...

  • It's pretty simple to understand.....instead of having instantly regenerating infinite ammo, now you just have to use the ammo you have......this is most likely because the way it is, it's really easy to just stun lock a boss for the entire encounter, which is fun sure, but also sorta cheesy

  • I don't have black hammer, so I can't comment. But this topic reminds me of the Ice nerf... I was like, "Wtf? That's from left field. Why are we attacking Ice? What did this gun ever do to anyone?" Lol

  • simple INFINATE Ammo. makes the game to easy

  • You could stun lock a boss for unlimited time while not running out of ammo, and dealing bunch of damage.

  • It's still going to be the best pve sniper. 18 consecutive shots, then grab ammo. Repeat. I'm not positive about the 18 bullet reserve but whatever it is, it's still an awesome gun.

      • As someone who doesn't own Black Hammer, I thought it already pulled ammo from your reserve. I never realized it gave you ammo out of thin air. It's still really good to keep shooting without reloading.

      • Yes you can sit back and kill bosses within seconds because they have huge hitboxes. I love my black hammer but this need is totally reasonable.

      • People will justify it with the following- "it's a legendary weapon with an exotic perk" BS if you ask me. The perk requires skill to activate.

        • Because it was performing way too well. You could nuke down bosses in secconds without reloading or ever running out of ammo. It made every other sniper in the game obsolete for most pve

          • I actually think it can be justified. With Black Hammer, all devil walker encounters became trivial. Remember when they were at least somewhat of a challenge? Now they are just target practice. The Cabal tank also became a pushover. This weapon is so powerful, that if not nerfed bosses hit boxes would need to be harder to hit to compensate for this single non exotic weapon. Besides, I will still be using this weapon. It should be great for bursting bosses after picking up special ammo. I just recently got it too, but I will enjoy it while it lasts and accept the nerf.

              • Exotic hand cannons are being nerfed because they are OP in crucible. But Black Ham, IceBreaker and Gally are being nerfed as punishment for all the whining and name calling.

                • I think Bungie is trying to make the old guns so bad that the new guns will seem really good. Honestly there isn't a single HoW weapon worth using other than Queenbreakers Bow and that gun can easily be replaced. They need people to keep grinding and stay interested. People won't do that if there isn't anything to play for.

                • So you have to come down off your perch and collect drops. It's still a sweet perk, you can fire 18 shots without reloading so bosses still go down fast.

                • It was a legendary that was to good. But they made the gun.. Soooo idk why they're mad and why they're waiting this long to nerf it. Could be they're nerfing all the good old guns so the new shit guns seem less bad.

                • The perk was built more for an exotic than for a legendary. I dont think this nerf ruins the weapon, just makes it harder to use.

                • It was a legendary weapon with an exotic perk. Now it's a legendary weapon with a much better version of triple tap. As in, it's a balanced weapon now.

                    • People would burn down bosses with it like it's a ghorn in the form of a sniper rifle so to prevent the burning of bosses and making this a requirement for lfg groups they are changing the way the weapon uses ammo it will still be a great solar sniper rifle though

He was sick of his soul being summoned back over and over in a vex time loop only to be staggered constantly by blackhammer and icebreaker, with a couple of gjallarhorn rounds thrown in. Like seriously the guy couldn't even move before another head shot staggered him again and again! Now come on, let's be realists here. The guys an archon priest, he's connected. He can drop a few names over whiskey down at the hooch peddlers. Do you think he couldn't turn a few tricks down at bungie HQ? "Hey Deej, how about backing off on the headshots mate? Archon's gotta eat bro! Do you even cheese? Don't make me show you deez nuts!" Blame the archon priest for the blackhammer, icebreaker and gjallarhorn nerfs. Dude couldn't take a hit.

                      • Why would I use anything else if I can shoot infinite sniper rounds? It's like putting yourself at a disadvantage to use any other sniper on the Devil Walker for example.
