Can someone seriously justify the Black Hammer nerf?
I really don't see why this is getting nerfed at all. Who can convince me? It makes no sense...

Raid legendaries being better than some exotics I'd perfectly fine imo. A lot of exotics are kinda bad. Agreed.

Makes the activities boring.. I don't think its really getting nerfed that hard anyway. If I use 18 rounds on something itd better be pretty close to wrecked

It's insanely OP. I imagine bosses would feel the same way about Black Hammer as the crucible base feels about Thorn and The Last Word

I was Pissed at the time but I was thinking about it if I empty all 18 sniper shots onto the boss it will still do massive damage and then with ruin wings I can pick up the secondary and keep going. The ice breaker nerf needs some -blam!-ing explaining though that's -blam!-ing bullshit

3 RepliesAlthough I love the weapon, it's 100% a form of cheesing. You could infinitely stun lock bosses with the gun, and in doing so, you would have the highest DPS output in the game. It wasn't fair.

6 RepliesIt gave you infinite ammunition. The only perk similar is String of Curses on Bad Juju. And that requires you to kill. Black Hammer only requires you to get 3 precision hits. Bad Juju is obtained after a quest line you have a random chance of getting. Black Hammer is obtained after killing Crota on Normal difficulty, a fight determined laughably easy now that many people can easily get 2 levels above everything in the encounter. The White Nail perk was Exotic tier. Bungie had 2 options: either make Black Hammer an exotic, or make it pull from your reserve ammo.

The Black Hammer will still be a good sniper. Take for instance the LDR 5001 sniper another good sniper just organize your weapon slot with the hammer ( solar ) and your void and arc damage LDR'S if you decide to stay with legendaries weapons. The IB is another story that nerf didn't make sense.

None. It's a pve weapon. No need to make repetitive boring content more so.

Idk I thought it was supposed to pull from reserve ammo when I first heard about the perk. Never bothered to try to get it. I was happy with my icebreaker. Still am even though they are screwing with it for no reason.

3 RepliesMakes sense to make it less exotic. Pop a special synth and keep firing. If something survives 34 precision shots then it deserves to live.
