I really don't see why this is getting nerfed at all. Who can convince me? It makes no sense...

Bc it and Icebreaker trivialize PVE content, and Bungie can't come up with creative ways to make the encounters challenging and dynamic than simply making things bullet sponges. So...gotta remove the weapons that counter those dynamics to bring back the challenge.

I think I read that it would have 18 rounds, wouldn't that be enough for the grav tank? Maybe one synth for a walker?

I'll answer your question with a question and then make an assumption. Is using the current black hammer fun? Assuming you said yes then that is your answer. Everything that makes end game content fun is nerfed by Bungie. They hate fun. The first thing they did to make the game fun was make shotguns awesome in pve. They're altering that now. You have guns like icebreaker, gjallarhorn, and black hammer that make endgame content a lot of fun to play, and fun isn't what Bungie is about anymore.

Bungie made the game like that, now they want to make it like this. It's their game they get to do whatever they want. We just pay to play...or not.

My guess is that the current white nail perk is more of an exotic perk then a legendary.

You shouldn't be able to stand with BH and stun the boss constantly until they die. It's too easy.

They could have handled it better for sure. You can probably get more damage in with a high impact sniper with final round and special weapon reloaded gloves.

Because it was more powerful in pve than any other sniper. Everything is meant to be balanced somewhat, and it was just too good. I think it was a little too much, but it was still a well deserved nerf.

The ONLY thing that makes the Black Hammer any good at all was the White Nail perk, earning free ammo without having to reload, and they're basically making it useless, by making it simply an instant reload from the ammo you already have. There's absolutely no point to the BH now when you can just use any one of the snipers that max out at 6 shots and can hold more ammo.

Black hammer is better than any other sniper on slow bosses like servitors, tanks, and walkers. Certainly better than ice breaker - not even close. Agree or disagree, if they're nerfing ice breaker to discourage sniping an entire fight, it's at least consistent to nerf black hammer too. I will miss it though.

To everyone who says because white nail is an exotic level perk - well now we have, a SOLAR SNIPER THAT DOESNT HAVE SHIT ON ICE BREAKER, HAS A CRAP SPECIAL PERK THAT DOES NOTHING BUT SAVE YOU FROM RELOADING WHEN THE RELOAD IS ALREADY FAST, A 3 ROUND -blam!-ING MAG, AND MOTHERSHITTING MULLIGAANN!!!!

You could chain headshots and still get ammo back in a powerful 3 shot sniper. I would think there may be a sniper that would do that in TTK, but an exotic. It's just my idea, as the white nail perk as it is, is an exotic perk.

They nerfed it because it was legendary. The ammo perk was really an exotic perk. A better course of action would have been to make it an exotic, seeing as it's already pretty rare anyways.

Clearly the devs have never been pinned down from enemies with infinite ammo and burn on for 30 continues min. So why shouldn't we get to turn the tables every now and then.
