I'm french Canadian, French came here first (Quebec city founded in 1608) English (brits) came right after and fought for the control of the St-Lawrence river In 1759 they had a big fight at the "plaine d'Abraham", French lost the battle ... since then Canada is part of the commonwealth (brits empire)
