If there is no one around to observe it, does the universe even exist?
This is basically a spin off of the "tree falls in the forest thing" but different

I personally think that the universe itself wouldn't even "exist" without anything to observe it.

The universe continues to exist without us. It has continued to exist without us for billions of years. It will continue to exist for billions of years after we go extinct. This is a scientific fact.

The universe 'is' things observing other things in one form or another. If there were no observations then there would be no universe to apply existence or non-existence to.

We know when we observe the universe it changes how it would have acted before[spoiler]maybe it's shy[/spoiler]

Say you fill up a swimming pool but you walk away when you come back it would be filled up. No one was there to observe it but it still filled up with water. So my answer is yes it still exists even though no one is there to observe it.
