  • Thank you for the video, very nicely put together. I actually have the complete opposite opinion to yours :P To me winning a 1v1 or generally being good at crucible is determined by the time it takes a person to aim the gun at the head of the opponent from the moment they spot them. If you are quicker at aiming than your opponent is you will win the fight. The only way to practice aiming is by constantly playing. In your video, you land some top notch head shots with a sniper, you can't teach that to someone who is not landing head shots by just watching videos of them not landing head shots and thinking "well next time to fix my error i just gotta land that head shot" :P Not a lot of people talk about the sensitivity that they use when playing crucible and the fact that to be better you have to know the map and keep your aim where you expect your opponent's head to be.

    • Most of what you said in the video makes a lot of sense. It's true, you can't just play the game all day expecting to get better, you HAVE to take frequent breaks because if you don't your Brain will overheat & become exhausted. It's true, if you keep doing the same bad habit you will never learn & stay away from that bad habit. This was a very good video. I hope to see more from you. Practice makes you better yes, but learning from your mistakes improve aswel.

    • Good advice thanks! I've decided to take about a week or two break from destiny but I've snuck a little time in watching videos and lurking in the forums, hopefully I'll come back refreshed and dominate!

Good video, haven't we seen this video before? Im in the top 1% on DT. Im also a PC gamer, the massive amount of aim assist on this game is unreal. If this game was on PC with no aim assist, peoples stats would be a hell of a lot different. You can test the aim assist, keep looking down scope at a player, when someone runs past you can see the aim assist lock onto that target. Sniping when it locks on just press fire for a free insta headshot. However the amount of lag cheats and very very poor servers and P2P matchmaking also has a major effect.

        • As a long time player who has been in the higher end of the skill gap. Reviewing games is by far the best advice you can give to that player who wants to get better. Halo 3 for me is what REALLY sparked improvement on my play and theater is what I would credit directly for that. Now that being said, there are some VERY few players who can review and adapt "in real time" to address bad habits they form but generally they have unnatural levels of discipline. If you want to make natural and fun progress through review, try making a montage (I prefer a blooper montage for this job). You'll likely find some fun in this and you WILL see your bad play while hunting for clips.

The problem here is there is absolutely no reason to try to get better at destiny. You can be a complete bumbling moron in the crucible and your rate of reward is going to be just about identical to someone who is going 21-0 10 games in a row. The trials are no better, it really doesn't take alot to go 9-0 in that thing. If this game rewarded high level play (pvp wise) people would actually try to get better. but I get what you are saying. I do okay in the crucible. I do okay in the trials. I get the same rewards as the people who are top performers. No incentive to put in the extra time or effort because it doesn't require it. Also.. just having the current metagame pvp weapons vastly tips the odds in your favor. A good shotgun and the last word and suddenly you will take an average player getting average scores and they will begin to top the charts every game until they run into someone else who has the same setup. Destiny will NEVER be a truly competitive PvP game. Not unless the base mechanics of how gear works in the PvP is altered. There are too many variables that tip the balance of power one way or another. Thats fine. There are enough competitive PvP games out there I can throw myself at if I want to really try to improve, destiny overall is a much more relaxed environment and thats one of the reasons I enjoy it.

            • what is this? this is pointing out very obvious shit, (and im not 1% player, im not even a crucible player) telling you to learn from your mistakes and use the best (OP) weapons and your build should be adjusted to your play style, needs 7 minutes to that. learning from your mistakes should be something you do on daily basis in real life. that should be a skill you have.... and you don't need to quit the game and watch a replay to learn from your errors nope.... if you try to kill someone crossmap with a shotgun you would learn pretty damn quick that aint gonna work and you switch guns ingame to something that is effective at the ranges of the maps or suits your playstyle.... BOOOM reviewed your error, BOOM learned from your error, BOOM adjusted your playstyle, BOOM you are now ready to become 1% player.... but now....... now you must compete against players that are here since the beta, have hundreds of hours. know the maps in and out and can play it even when there eyes are picked out by some crows. have a mother who comes in with a potty when they need to shit, piled up empty cans of red bull. complete fireteam of there friends who are here just as long. they know the flow of battle, know the chokepoints, campspots, THEY EAT AND BREATH THIS GAME.... good fuk king luck!!

One of the best videos I've seen on improving PvP. I hang with a bunch of really good PvP players and so my win ratio and knowledge is well above my level. I'm going to try and change that, and I'm going to put this advice to good use. Thank you, sir.

                • there is no top 1%. there is no true way yet to see who is truly good at this game. everything is skewed by getting matched with terrible ppl.

                    • Does anyone have any sniping tips? I've always been wanting to snipe, but the problem for me in PVP is that I just take too long to shoot because I'm trying to headshot. I'm not very comfortable sniping on multiplayer.
