No entirely. Yes they play a part, but killer T cells kill the infected cells and then B cells manufacture the antibodies based of the information the T cells give them. Then some B cells turn into memory B cells that remember the antibodies needed for that certain disease or virus. Memory B cells can last a week or 10 years. It is uncertain how long they last.
