The Riddle You Remember
I have to say, this is my favorite riddle. I hold it near and dear to my heart, so much so that I made this the last riddle of my throwback series. If you've seen this riddle before, please don't spoil it for others. Good luck, and think hard.
Who/What am I?
It is I, I have no other names, my sweet. Those who walk the void have described my action as their reaction. The sun is my friend, and furthermore, my long lost. I am still here with you, but you all have forgotten my true purpose; it is not to stay at your side, but to pass your bleeding nose. You must choose, guardians: you've used a parasite your whole life--why not its host?

A rose can bloom, which also references the voidwalker's bloom ability, which is a reactionary explosion after a void kill. The sun is the source or life for a rose, but when it became the Thorn, it lost that light, as it went into the darkness. The thorn is technically still the rose, but it's original intentions have been lost in darkness when the original wielder became Dredgen Yor. The bleeding nose part could refer to how so many people use the thorn now apart from any other gun in the game since its OP as hell, but a rose is supposed to be smelled, not used as a killing device. The parasite refers to the darkness infecting the rose and making it the thorn. The rose is a host being infected by the darkness of the Thorn. I think this is it :D

11 RepliesYou say i have no other name my sweet because a rose is something you'd give to a lover. The rose blossomed which is similar to bloom which a voidwalker has which brings about the action/reaction thing. The sun is it's friend because a rose needs sunlight to exist. Also, the parasite is thorn or whatever dark magic was used to create thorn and the host is the rose.

4 RepliesEdited by fil: 7/15/2015 2:41:37 AMooh. nothing but some after practice stimulation I will edit as I go I have no other names my sweet" refers to Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet where they say, a rose by any other name smells just as love or something. that walk the void and action is reaction means in the face of darkness the roses bullets that take action are the weilders reactive reflexes the sun is my friend is referring to a flower. a rose needs the sun to survive, and essentially is what they strive for in their still, graceful life I think the next part is going toward the thorn . many have forgot it's purpose- to defend and kill, and instead they wanna be douche queers and be OP. that last part is choosing between the rise and the thorn. thorn is the parasite but was created by the rose in a sense. you can choose between the parasite(thorn) or the host (rose) k I'm done

You must choose, guardians: you've used a parasite your whole life--why not its host? The rose. The Rose used to be the Thorn. The Rose was made out of light, so it would be it's "friend". Light is also the sun, a representation of the Light. Since the Rose is now corrupted and is the Thorn, it is no longer friends with light, and is instead a long lost friend. The Rose is still with us, but we now use it as a personal weapon, when it used to be a representation of peace. Hence, we have forgotten it's true purpose. To pass your bleeding nose I guess is supposed to mean that is was used to represent peace, not interfere with troubles, while the Thorn is at our side, helping us fight our battles. The final bit somewhat confuses me. You have used a parasite your whole life, why not its host.... I can only imagine that the parasite refers to Thorn, which most of us have used since they first got it, and is technically a parasite since it sucked the Light out of Rose. The Host in that case would be Rose, since it was drained by the Thorn, makes it the host. But the rule is I have to guess right, not explain right lol
