As the one of two sidearms currently in the game, I expected this one to be better than the Vestian because ya know, it is EXOTIC but no, not only is it not better; its practically useless in PvP or PvE. I was so excited to get it once i recieved my second Elder Cipher, but once completing a few 34 PoE's and not to mention waiting 3 days beforehand doing nothing to progress on the bounty, the Dreg's Promise was finally mine. My first impression of the gun was "this has got to be better with more upgrades" Then after grinding of course to get that last Exotic perk I found that no, it doesn't get better.
What does it need?
Maybe just remove the burst fire, maybe make the enhanced target acquisition actually work properly with the burst fire?
Make it do as much damage as the Vestian?
I don't really know what the proper fix would be; but i do know it needs a fix to even be a usable gun. Because right now i wouldn't even classify it as underused; its just completely pointless unless you really enjoy struggling to kill a level 12 dreg with less than 4 bursts from a (moderate) range.
I don't know what the rest of you guys think, but I'd love to see this sidearm have some use to it and be fun and viable in both PvP and PvE.

I've complained the same. This gun does good at close range when you just shoot hella times. But shooting at anything moving your only going to hit them with one maybe two bullets because the burst is slow. The dynasty holds way more ammo and does more damage and is only a single shot. So why it is not the exotic and the promise the legendary. The Lord hold alot of ammo because all five bullets cause the same damage as one shotgun shell and bungie was smart enough to give it more ammo to be comparative but they didn't do that with dregs promise though. It should have a slightly faster burst, is already really stable and all the shots are very close together shoot at a wall and you'll see. The gun should also do a little bit more damage and hold about 300 all together for pve. Instead of 168.
