You're not reading my post because you read one poll and have made up your mind. Obama's approval rating has never sunken as low as Bush's. Could Bush have ran a third term he would not have been able to secure the GOP nomination. It was that bad. Now you're suggesting Bush is more popular because a poll showed Americans found him more favourable than Obama. Well if that's all you want to take from that then okay. You're right in a narrow sense. It would be pretty stupid of you not to dissect deeper. American presidents generally get a bump in approval ratings when they leave office. Obama will be the same. Obama's actual approval rating, which goes from like 45% - 55% is pretty normal. It maybe doesn't sound that way but it is. Polling above 60% means you're really popular.

  • You lost credibility in your debate when you twisted my word and stated that I believe Bush is more popular than Obama. Both are very unpopular presidents. According to various polls from Forbes, B.I.,PewStudies, etc. Obama's popularity is lower than that of Bush.

Okay I'll be fair and say you're miming something a lot of websites do post. It's a BS comparison by itself. Polls without the larger narrative can be BS. Polls without explanation can be BS. Polls are also a one time snapshot. There can be outlier polls. The poll you are looking at I believe came from CNN since they posted an article about it. If you know of a Pew or Gallup poll that reiterates that then feel free to post it. Obama's popularity is not low. I think Obama's lowest poll points were maybe around 43% approval? That's not a great number but it was a one time low point. Bush sank to the mid 20's at one point. That's unbelievably low. So when you look at the broader history of both men's presidencies, their electoral results, and you factor in the softening of public images post presidency and you can understand why it's silly to paint with a broad brush that Obama is less popular than Bush.
