James Buchanan Did nothing at all to prevent the south from secession, backed a supreme court decision that denied African Americans rights, and was generally an undecisive weeny. He did a lot of social, and economical damage to the US for sure. Edit: I automatically assume anybody that chose either Obama or Bush as worst is seriously uninformed on US president legacies.
