Everyone acts like psn is down half of the time, its not, it goes down more the Xbox live but you know it is OK to take a break and do something else.

Do "something else"? If PSN is down, I fire up my Xbox. If Xbox Live is down, I fire up my Playstation! If both are down... I've got a 3ds and PC...
