You probably won't believe me if I tell you this, but my spirit guide is a wolf.

I took one of those tests and it said mine was a crow. Was dissapointed. What dissapoints me more is the doccumentary I just watched about the poachers slaughtering wolf and coyote packs all over America.

Yeah, that is sad... I hate the fact that hunting wolves is legal here in Montana. By the way, those tests don't really mean anything. I was able to connect with my spirit through my dreams and meditation (my grandfather taught me how). It doesn't happen over night, and unfortunately (I know it seems a bit unfair) you don't get to pick your guide, your guide picks you. It's not an easy thing to do, but when you do find your guide it really does help. [spoiler]Yet again, you probably won't believe me, but it's true.[/spoiler] Even if your guide is a Raven, that is still a noble spirit to have.

My grandfathers guide is a cougar, and before I connected to my guide I wanted mine to be one too. But after I met my guide and discovered the true spirit of the gray wolf, that's when my love for them really took off. Though your spirit guide isn't you, it is deeply connected to you. So I think you will find that you tend to fall in love with whatever animal your guid is.

It's not that hard to do really. It mostly just takes time, patience, dedication, understanding, and you have to be open to new possibilities. I can't stress the time part enough though... It's not going to happen over night. I've been told that it can even take years for a person to connect to their guide. Because it depends just as much on the guid as it does you, and if one of you (or both) aren't ready then you won't connect.

I hope it's more help then I was. But even understanding more about it, you will still probably have to wait for your guide (if you ever befriend it, and I hope you do). It might take months, or even years before your guide shows itself... (It took me about 9 months before I befriended mine, and my grandfather had already taught me about the circle of life and to respect/honor everything because we are all connected). It's not a difficult journey(if you are patient), but It can be a long one.

I am a modern person that lives a modern life near a modern city. I rarely even have complete quiet. I don't know how or if I could even do this...

It sound hard, I know. If you aren't physically out in nature, learning about life, then that's fine. Understanding is the key, you have to understand your place (as an individual and a human) in the world (physically and spiritually), and when you've done that and your guide thinks you are ready, it will make itself clear to you (and you will probably also be more open to accepting whatever it may be).

Ok. I feel pretty knowledgable about my place. I am a tiny person on a tiny planet in a tiny solar system in a tiny galaxy in this great universe. My spirit is uneasy though, as I find no solace in accepting my motality.

Sorry I'm not being more help, I'm just not sure how to explain it better then I already have. And I'm sure that the website I linked wasn't much help to someone that wasn't brought up like I was... Maybe I'll just consult my guide sometime and see what they think

It's kind of a hard thing to teach (and I'm not as good at it as my grandfather), but basically the best way to connect to your guide is through your dreams, and through meditation (it will appear once it's ready, and "IF" it thinks you are ready). Like I said before, it takes time, and understanding (and that's what can't be taught), and you can't force it to happen (your guide will only appear if BOTH of you are ready). That's why I said that patience is so important.
