With the exception of about 7 people. Every single other person on my friends list (over 100) have been gained primarily in matchmaking either in Cod or Halo. There's a percentage of friends made through those matchmaking friends.
I may not be voicing anything new here but these were mature rated titles, mostly because of language and violent content. Apparently, shooting things in the face isn't considered mature content any longer. Destiny, was either intended or modified into a teen rated game. I think we're all aware that in a mature rated game, there are younger teens playing, they shouldn't be, but some patents are stupid. For that same reason we find pre-teens in teen rated games.
This is the reason, I feel, that we won't be getting matchmaking. How many of you actually turn on team voice chat in crucible when you're in a mixed room? How many threads do we see about people getting muted, booted, trolled or just ignored in the weekly strike or other strikes?
Matchmaking is important, it builds communities, clans and friend lists. But, when you have such a disparate age range of players, it gets tedious and difficult to manage.
Making Destiny a teen rated title was a huge mistake. Maybe not for the bottom line in sales, but definitely for the communities vitality.
