After the initial firing of the Halo rings, how long did it take the Flood to "starve to death"?
Also, how long was it until species were re-seeded, so to speak?

Any Flood of sufficient complexity, or with a host of sufficient complexity would be killed by Halo. After that, the more basic Flood, such as growths, and the FSC would begin to starve. The Forerunners waited several years after Halo was fired, monitoring the state of the galaxy before starting the reseeding process.
