What are the chances the Forerunners have a outpost outside the galaxy

Edited by Clayman518: 7/1/2015 9:20:43 PMWe have literally no idea. It has never been stated whether the escaped Forerunners survived the journey out of the milky way galaxy or not and the exact average Forerunner life span has never been determined. Because of this, we have no idea if they even lived long enough to complete the great journey, and considering the size of our galaxy and the amount of extragalactic space (the space between galaxies) between the milky way and whatever galaxy they were attempting to reach, those Forerunners might still be traveling that path to this day. So we have absolutely no idea about their status or whereabouts or what they have done since the activation of halo.

What about those in the Spider nebula? Sure, they're much more primitive, but they are Forerunners.
-
Probably killed by the firing of the rings
-
Not possible. They were outside the confines of our galaxy, thus they were outside the firing range of the rings.
-
Hm. It seems we might have an interesting possibility on our hands then. Did the flood never consume them? If I remember correctly they were living near a lot of precursor artifacts, specifically star roads.

Edited by Valkyrie 497: 7/2/2015 5:06:19 PMYes there were, but any Precursors in the area had been completely wiped out by the ancient Warriors during the Forerunner's genocidal campaign against the Precursors. Those Forerunners in the Spider nebula are the descendants of those Warriors, and the isolation from any other form of sentient life has left them highly primitive in nature, no longer capable of constructing some of the more basic machines, such as motorized transportation.

I see. LoA said they were all killed by the firing of a greater halo on my other comment, so it seems those forerunners are dead after all.
-
Ah. I haven't 100% finished Silentium yet, but I did notice that the Halo was fired in the direction of that part of space. However, I was under the impression that it was more of a highly focused beam than a standard firing of a Halo. Pity, since I would have absolutely loved 343i doing something more with them in the future.
-
Same here, would have been interesting. Silentium is definitely one of my favorites out of the halo books, it's got a lot of interesting stuff in it about the fall of the forerunners.
-
They're dead. The Master Builder fired a Greater Halo right at it.
-
Well, there's our answer. Looks like my initial comment was correct then
-
Not exactly. The array being activated didn't kill them.
-
I see. What was a greater halo again?
-
A Halo produced from the Greater Ark.

-
In Silentium?
-
I never read silentium. Please explain.
