The meta isn't hand cannons in general, its Thorn and The Last Word. PvP was fun when people actually used different weapons, when auto rifles were usable.

People didn't use different weapons when auto rifles were usable. They all used Suros.
-
Suros was mainly for IB. Made the 50 headshots with an AR super easy. Other than that people used Grim Citizen, Vanquisher and For the People. There were tons of ham ARs. But the main reason for using suros was for the bounties.
-
They were good, but they were ridiculous due to their insane stability and too-high range.
-
I used an auto rifle, I didn't have suros. Sometimes I actually used thorn to counter suros, they were even. It was way better back then.
-
I disagree. The Suros was as prevalent as TLW/thorn combined. The only different was the other guns were more diverse - it wasn't almost all vex and red death then. I've used Hawkmoon the most since I got it in December, but I also like the messenger/3lw and MIDA. I just wish scouts had a slightly higher base damage.

Edited by Envy: 7/1/2015 12:27:52 PMAt least there was another weapon on par with those hand cannons though. I completely with you on scout rifles. As for hawkmoon, I can never obtain it until PS exclusives are no longer exclusive. I wish I had the messenger but I have 3LW.

Edited by life_allstar: 7/1/2015 12:32:56 PMSuros was superior to everything back then. Thorn was severely limited by its reload and clip size. TLW couldn't match Suros at range. And don't worry about messenger - it's almost identical to 3LW unless you get an adept. I was trading kills across the map with a dude using 3LW yesterday. Was kinda funny how even the guns are.

When I played thorn had the same clip it does now pre "balance" patch. Suros was dominant but it is easier to counter. Nice, I guess I'll have to start using mine again.
