Etheric light is worthless. When TTK drops all our guns will be done. What's the point to keep upgrading them?!

  • We're still BFFs, right?

  • I'm really hoping the talks that we won't be able to upgrade our Year 1 weapons when TTK drops are untrue or not fully fleshed out yet. Still, I would like to upgrade old raid gear to current levels even if they won't be upgradeable after TTK.

  • I think most are in your boat but you have to remember who's making all the decisions here, Bungie.....ugh

  • Well, tell me what you think. Are they going to render obsolete an entire years worth of a player's stored gear? And if they do, are you still going to use Fatebringer? Personally, I prefer the idea of players using what they want and being able to upgrade the gear. If for no other reason than for the sake of variety.

  • I think you will still be able to use your old gear but it won't be of the same level or tier as the new stuff. If Bungie had at least 1 smart person on their team they would solve these problems by offering an update or upgrade pack to the existing raids. That way we have new challenge and updated gear drops. Seems like a nobrainer because it works more for Bungie since this would effectively extend play time, minimize content creation, and keep players busy for months on end. Hell, I bet people would PAY for it.

So it would appear, at least on the surface, that as we get further and further from the original launch of this game that old content should see a drop off in playtime as players realize that the gear they get from the old content is "worthless" in the new content. Bungie would effectively be removing a large portion of their gameplay from rotation as players migrate away from it due to low level gear. Is that a fair assumption? Because that seems really stupid.

  • 100% accurate. Ever wonder why the old vender gear has never returned?

  • I just assumed it was because Bungie was shortsighted and believed they had enough "loot" to warrant ditching the old stuff. And you know, they're dickheads.
