I've gotten a lot less angry with Crucible after I've accepted that there is no victory in it, only defeat, and that I'm not good at it, but it still hasn't become fun for me.
I can see that the meta is Hand Cannons and Shotguns on Hunters and Warlocks, but otherwise it just seems like throwing myself into the game as cannon fodder for others without an ounce of enjoyment.
So, when do other people start having fun in the Crucible? Is it a specific mode? I admit I'm a solo player and don't have groups to play with, so maybe that's it?

When they bring back the Suros and kill thorn.
-
I started enjoying it once I learned how use TLW, found the ideal class setup for my play style and learned how to play the maps.
-
When you have a team of only Voidwalkers and striker titans :D. People tend to get mad.
-
It's fun if you're good. The classes don't function like other games, there's no true support class. You get better with practice, using the right perks, right weapons. Biggest thing is ranging your opponent, knowing when you have the advantage and when to duck for cover.
-
I used to be PvE only person but after trials I have dropped all PvE and now I only play pvp
-
You need skill for it to become fun. I can imagine getting killed time after time gets frustrating.
-
It's much more fun to play with friends. But you also have to like that competitive mode. I have friends who hate crucible because it's not their style. I love it, even though I die a lot. I like running around and trying to win. I also like to try new weapons on crucible to see if I like them.

2-2:15 AM EST You're welcome.

While handcannons and shotguns may be the meta, it doesn't mean you can't succeed with other weapon types. I try to use a variety; pulse rifles, scout rifles, and snipers. Even the new sidearms are viable. You just have to find what you're comfortable with--what you do well with--and stick to it. Don't try to use what everyone else is using because it seems to be the most effective. What works for others may not work for you.

Edited by Gaunjafarmer: 6/30/2015 5:05:56 PMI actually ran around with the Suros yesterday had a lot fun and surprisingly isn't as bad as ppl say not what it once was but man I was killing thorners, tlw users overall really fun.

I leveled up pocket infinity and started using no land beyond. Very fun once you stop conforming to what everyone else uses

It becomes fun when you play with a bunch of friends and just have fun and mess around. Don't worry about winning or losing just laugh and have fun.
-
It took a couple months for me. It takes a little bit to get used to all the variables, but now it's what I play most.
-
It never gets fun for me, just another grind for IB gear.
-
Once I got my matador I started having tons of fun
-
Crucible will be fun when it's actually balanced. And not have 2 exotic hand cannons the can/will 2 shot head shot
-
When people don't use op handcannons and blink shotgun
-
It's like lifting for the first time, it hurts and it sucks and you don't see progress right away. So you might think: What's the point? I'll never be like THOSE guys. But once you filter out the negative feelings and give in to your positive thoughts...at the end of the day it is you who have won. The thought of a better game next game was what pushed me, you have it in you to be better than the best destiny player in the world. The only difference between you and him? He played more than you.

When you win.

Edited by diamondestiny23: 6/30/2015 4:34:28 PMI have the exact same problem, ill never get thorn, I have the bounty though
-
I started having more fun when I stopped worrying about winning. Also it helps when you play with a team of people you know and can have fun with.
-
Sooo... judging by the deafening silence (aside from one response), am I to assume that the crucible in fact never becomes fun? Why do people even play it then?
-
If u play with 2 or 3 friends you will win everygame
-
Only reason I play it is to escape the monotony of Strikes and Missions that just are the same over and over and over again. Don't get me wrong, the PVE elements are fun, but the cheap things are what always wins out. Take for example this Nightfall, guarantee 90% of all groups will sit in the antechamber and shoot Icebreakers through the gaps. I personally like control, and have a group of guys to play with when that starts to get dull. I like PVP, little but more variety and I like the challenge of going up against people.
-
I play alone a lot and enjoy it, it's more fun the better you get
-
I know well what you mean. For me it's fun when I play with my friends. Lot of laughs. It's not important if I'm almost always dead. LOL!
