I've gotten a lot less angry with Crucible after I've accepted that there is no victory in it, only defeat, and that I'm not good at it, but it still hasn't become fun for me.
I can see that the meta is Hand Cannons and Shotguns on Hunters and Warlocks, but otherwise it just seems like throwing myself into the game as cannon fodder for others without an ounce of enjoyment.
So, when do other people start having fun in the Crucible? Is it a specific mode? I admit I'm a solo player and don't have groups to play with, so maybe that's it?

The crucible is only fun once you turn into a shotgun blinker with thorn, TLW, Red Death, or something like that.

I was like that for a long time too my friend. For the first 6 months of destiny i hated pvp and stuck to pve. However once you start learning what stats, abilities, and weapons work for you it starts getting better. Its still broken as of now but once u get the top teir weapons u can start to compete, play competitively, and have fun. If i were u, i would just focus on doing the crucible bounties, getting faction rep, and getting the weapons u need. I usually find that free for all (rumble) playlist is the easiest to do, unless u run into a player like me. And if that happens just try to stay away from that player and learn what strategies they use. If you dont have top teir weapons yet, focus on pve until u do. Im am not the best player by far however i do only play the underpowered and used titan, and ive managed to have over a 1.5 kd in all game types. Good luck.

Practice makes perfect, plus guns and map knowledge. Try youtube faqs for pvp if your new, it should enlighten you on some of the strats. In addition to hand cannons high to medium impact pulse rifles do well as well. Scouts aren't bad on larger maps. Don't try to jump into endgame pvp events like iron banner or trials if your new to pvp tho, you will most likely lose repeatedly and be dissapointed. Practice in regular crucible maps til you feel more confident.

Learn the map then just hang out around your teams capture zones and just take people out that are coming to capture it. Learn the entrances to the area in which you are lingering and play cautious don't just go running head first into the action getting in multi-guardian shoot outs. Then continue on to going on kill streaks and watch your k/d rise.

I started having fun when I played trials of osiris, I sucked at first but I practiced crucible and my team and I were able to get 9-0. It is the same sense of accomplishment as beating the vault of glass.

I solo play all the time. The trick to having fun in the Crucible for me, is winning and not caring what kills me. If you get caught up in the whining about supers/exotic guns/whatever you spend more time looking for reasons to be angry than having fun
-
Don't take it too seriously and just try and improve a little each time. Oh, and learn the maps! Once you know the layout and the quirks each one has you'll improve. And just keep playing. You may never be "A #1 MLG" but you'll get to where you can hold your own.

So far I've only played salvage and control. I like them, but I like them more when I play with a couple of friends. Screaming at people who refuse to capture zones gets old fast when no one can hear me doing it - at least my buddies and I can laugh about it. I lose far more often than I win, and my kdr is shitty, but... every once in a while I have a really good match and that somehow makes me feel better. I had a great control match this morning - 25 kills, 1.67 kdr, (which for me is a really REALLY good match). My suggestion is really to play with friends if you can.

Once they balance exotic hand cannons and fix blink shotgunning it'll have a good chance of being fun. Otherwise it's do those things or be sad
-
I have to admit, its a lot more fun to me when I play with my friends instead of soloing it.
-
When you get a fireteam and go crazy, then it becomes addictive when you are battling for top spot each game with a full fireteam of good pvpers
-
just went to orbit 3 times because everyone running in the red. what a fun game it is.
-
Not to mention the cheaters who have zero skill and rely on cheap methods to win.
-
Using red death
-
As soon as they rebalance guns. This must be coming soon
-
I am decent at it and ill tell you it has lost its fun, the lag.,OP guns. Unbalanced
-
The more better you get at it thats when you will start to enjoy it more but thats just me cuz I use the snipers alot and my last word
-
Its not fun lol, stop waiting. They would have to change a few things and add some more modes (like no supers or exotics) before its fun.
-
I will say this. I was like you from december till march..maybe april.. then i thought differently about crux. ...i figured what are my strong points.. in pve. Then applied them.. adapted them.. change you subclass build etc... i took advice from fireteam members..but eith time i stopped worrying about not winning. . And now i focus on not just how i play..but play with my team. If i know om a grenade hooar.. ill figure a way to utilize that talent to help my team. I feel everytime you jump in crux you get better.. dont sweat it k !

When you learn the maps. I mean every detail of it. Spots people dont expect you to be at, getting angles, etc.

Friday. Trials of Osiris

Edited by Pati0Furniture: 7/1/2015 1:00:56 AMSounds like you're halfway there already with accepting losses. What forced me into being passable was doing the Invective and Bad Juju bounties. I also picked up TLW last time xur sold it. Find the modes that you have the most fun with, I usually do better in control and skirmish. Oh and learning the maps is critical too.

Watch videos that talk about things like always having your gun aimed at what you perceive to be head level right before that red dot comes around the corner...something as simple as consistently doing that has helped me tremendously. Youtube True Vanguard, he has amazing tutorials. Give it a shot.

You start having fun with the crucible when thorn gets nerfed

Edited by Lrich1986: 6/30/2015 7:41:37 PMI think it's when you just accept that unless your mlg you are going to die a lot. When you have guns that can kill you within a second, 1 shot grenades and things such as supers in a game there is no point getting frustrated at dying. I think mostly people who first enter get their asses handed to them it's when you start pulling positives k/d's without caring about dying you will enjoy it more

It doesn't. Find something else like halo. Cya there, friend
