When does Crucible become fun?
I've gotten a lot less angry with Crucible after I've accepted that there is no victory in it, only defeat, and that I'm not good at it, but it still hasn't become fun for me.
I can see that the meta is Hand Cannons and Shotguns on Hunters and Warlocks, but otherwise it just seems like throwing myself into the game as cannon fodder for others without an ounce of enjoyment.
So, when do other people start having fun in the Crucible? Is it a specific mode? I admit I'm a solo player and don't have groups to play with, so maybe that's it?

I try to position myself by certain friends that are bad, or haven't played. Then get matchmade with their level and it's pretty fun. I hate playing Crucible by myself, because it's boring. When you trade off, you get to relax every three games and help out your friends when they're up. The only thing that sucks is your K/D ratio is going to be horrible if you trade off, luckily for me, I could care less. Just relax and have fun! Edited: for a typo.

1 ReplyWhen you start playin for fun not wins I enjoy winning on crucible some days I'll sweat my little bean off to get wins and just generally try and destroy the other team other times I'll throw on a no land beyond fusion rifle and just rush about messing around just find what you enjoy doing and a game type you enjoy and just go for it

I used to be exactly like you. Finished games with good scores, decent KD's but I never walked away from a game happy. I never had fun, I just did it cause it was there. So then I just totally stayed away from cruicible for months and months. It wasn't til Trials came round and a couple mates talked me into it that I jumped into it again. Our first attempt we failed. Then a few days later 1 of those friends was talking to a random and them 2 convinced me to do trials again, then we went flawless. From there I started to enjoy cruicible. Just running around with a mate or 2 in clash/control, was pretty fun! Then I made a Titan, levelled it up for defender first, and now I just run around popping bubbles. There was a game on Burning shrine I had the other day where I went 24-4 and I think I got my super 6 times! It has it's ups and downs for me still, but I'm starting to enjoy it a little more

Avoid Iron Banner. It is never fun. Ever. I have a lot of fun in skirmish, teamwork be damned. You just gotta find the play style that suits you! Aggressive shotgun and CQB action or longer range sniping, or follow your teammates around and take their kills. Either works ;D

Never. Been grinding out Crucible match wins for grimoire, hating myself. It is sometimes fun if you have friends to play with, but I used to play Halo all the time by myself and it was much more fun than Crucible.

I enjoy it alot, but Im good at crucible, so that plays a big role. I mainly stick with Control. Rumble when randoms on my team piss me off enough and I need to be solo.

I have fun when I use NLB. I know I'm not gonna win every encounter. I stop caring as much, the game doesn't matter. If something debatable happens, I don't complain as usual. I put my iron sights on their head, pull the trigger, and miss. But when I do hit them? Ooooohhhhhhh it's so satisfying.

Cruciblr used to be relly fun. Now it has the worst lag I've ever seen. Add scrub players spamming Thorn, TLW, blink and shotguns, makes it unbearable.

It's fun the second you stop giving a s $!t, and just play to play. I sucked in the beginning, but my first IB I wanted gear so bad, and had a chance, just played and little by little learned the maps, the corners, where ammo spawn spots were like I knew my name, and I got better. Got my gear, then next IB wanted weapons, played and used what I learned to make my way. Play as a team even though your not grouped, and by that I mean, watch what your teammates are doing, there caping a flag, cover the corner opposite them, see them rush a point, lay down fire or pop a grenade. Heavy ammo pops, cover the box and WAIT for your team mates to come by as well, don't ninja it for yourself, better for 3 or 5 to have heavy ammo then 1. Use your gear, in that I mean, your gonna run a hand cannon, and sniper rifle, then use the gear that has some perks for more ammo, check your loadout, make sure the perks there match your gear perks. And for the love of everything shiney, learn to use the radar. May sound stupid, but I know I for one didn't and wondered why I was getting fragged 20 ways to sunday. Point I guess I'm trying to make is figure out how you lime to play, find gear and weapons to support it and have fun. I went from bottom guy every game, to top 3 most games. Of your on xbox1, add me, I'll run with ya.

3 RepliesUse odd weapons like hardlight, suros, praedyths timepiece, the bow, to add variety to your game. Try the mida as well, rumble only though for me. Rumble is the most fun. It's satisfying to see yourself use underpowered guns and do well if you have the skill.
