Easier said than done. First off, Iron Banner is a Thorn/Lag Fest (at times it is straight up unplayable). Secondly, most folks don't have the option of sitting at home and playing PvP all day (most adults work for a living). Lastly, not everyone is in a clan or has friends to play with every week...this leaves a player with few options. Bottom line, Etheric light should be easier to obtain.

I work, have a kid, and managed 6 light last time.... Grind when you can, don't poke around and leave matches, manage time wisely... Get a thorn, join em, get the light ;). I had never even used thorn, just read that it was OP, so of course I equipped it haha. If you wait till later and week your bonus rep goes up big-time. Basically just doing the bounties on Sunday will get you a lvl or two.

If that's honestly your situation then I am sincerely impressed. By the time I get home, walk the dog and eat dinner I have about 1.5 hours of game time before I hit the sack (I am married btw, so gaming every single night is not an option ha ha). Getting three characters to rank 5 in IB takes a lot of time either way. At the end of the day, Destiny needs to be less of a grind. This is and has been, one of Destiny biggest flaws since its release last fall. Ah yes, the Thorn. I used to have the can't beat em join em mentality. I have multiple Thorns, I just don't like using them anymore. I'm getting to the point where I can no longer respect myself or other players that rely on Thorn for PvP. In my eyes, it is truly a broken crutch weapon that needs to be adjusted. This same thing happened with Suros Regime. The problem was that they nerfed ALL autos instead of adjusting Suros. What they need to do is buff autos and make a slight change to Thorn (range, clip size, etc). I hear you on the boon and I definitely take advantage...I just wish there were more options for Etheric light other than POE 34+ or Lag banner (I didn't list nightfall btw because I am 18-0 when it comes to Etheric Light) and I have seen many players say the same thing.

Well, I am married, 15 years.... She is cool though and I can play next to her late while she sleeps or whatever, she doesn't mind. In fairness, I do work for tens, so every Friday I have like a 10 hr window to grind. As far as thorn and "respect" goes, phooey. Get that light. I'm pretty average at best in crucible, would be lot worse if I didn't get three kills a game from burn as I'm dead haha. I just don't like crucible, 6on6 to small, to floaty, bad lag, I was and always will be a battlefield guy. Where classes matter, playing the objective matters, and the maps are huuuuge with tons of people. Hard to adjust to this crap fest. I just can't believe the lag, considering it's only 12 players tops. I'd suggest you buy the buff, and try to do the bounties, later in week if you don't have time. You can get three to lvl three I'm sure, that's three light. If my memory serves, 1-3 goes quick.
