What little is learned is that it is a portal of some sorts, of the technology of the recently encountered cybernetics. The scientists guess that the structure was built less than a month ago.

*ODSTs set up Demo charges invade it needs to be destroyed. Disobeying direct orders one scientist decided to activate the device.*

A single cybernetic soldier exits with arms above his head. "Please refrain from destroying the emancipation gate, it is here that humanity fled to our colony and later adapted like us. It remains so that we might have reclaimed earth, however since you are here now we will use it to conduct trade."

Out of the portal steps a walker laden with weapons, they are more advanced than the current technology, upon examination they are a mix of plasma mortars, laser assault rifles and other energy based weapons. "I have been instructed to give these to you, they are last generation and out dated among our people but yours could use them."

*engineers take the supplies and you are watched cautiously.* "alright so who are your people exactly?"

The cybernetic soldier looks at them. "We are you, if you decided to augment yourself with technology. Our colony ship landed on Tephras prime, our home world. We originally came from this city. There are others as well."

"Well we have a strict code about no cybernetic augmentations unless it's to save a life."

"Ah, so you are purists, we wondered if we would meet your kind again. The last purist faction we met went to war with the harmonists, they lost horribly, the planet itself attacked them. We on the other hand are still at war with the harmonists. Our cybernetic soldiers and A.I. Driven combat platforms are tougher than anything nature can make on her own."

"I wouldn't say purists, we just don't stick to any one form. For instance it isn't hard to find augmented soldier or civilians. But these humans all retain majority of their human body and limbs. We're a rag tag bunch of aliens, humans, cyborgs, survivors, fighters, scavengers and a few pirates."

The man holds the chip and slots it into the back of his armor. You see him twitch as the interface takes the information and uploads it to the consensus.

"Trusting aren't you? What if that was a Trojan horse?"

"Then our fire walls will terminate the program."

"Interesting well then what's next? How shall we make this trade official?"

"We have many things of value to you, however you have little we need. We are acting out of good faith. You will encounter the harmonists eventually, we would have you believe our actions rather than their words."
