What's your biggest beef with Skolas? I remember having this pressing need to do Crota every single week without fail, and have a full set of raid weapons and armor for 2 characters, it's not an issue of difficulty.
I don't do this with PoE and actually have not completed Skolas yet. Why? For me it's mostly the checkpoint, I just don't have that kind of time to play most nights; add in the fact that the rewards are really not any more attractive than doing the level 34 in much less time and using that etheric light to ascend an older raid weapon that's basically better in every way.
Edit: On further thought maybe it's 60/40 the lackluster rewards and not the checkpoint that discourages me, though they are really the same thing in a way: if I could pick it up again the next day at a checkpoint, the effort is less onerous. I'd like to see a single checkpoint right before Skolas (non-sharable) to save a lot of frustration from network issues or time constraints. It's far less demoralizing to say "OK, gotta, go, let's pick this up tomorrow", than "Well I just completely wasted my night."
Edit 2: For all you MLG ballers who solo it in an hour, more power to you but the site won't allow me to add another option now. Suffice it to say that this topic is not really intended for your particular demographic, which is suspect is the minority of Destiny players.
Edit 3: If your answer is "I do it every week, git gud," then please choose which option you think would make it more appealing than it already is. For your purposes, "too difficult" would equal "takes too long".

Garbage rewards. I got all my exotic bounties and haven't stepped foot back into that.. The primaries are so bad it's a joke
-
Edited by Powermix24: 6/29/2015 8:54:09 PMso i can get a fallen weapons with burn that has shank bonus damage or Dreg bonus damage ? They need to get weapons that do bounus damage to Either fallen majors , Vex majors or Cabal majors . Crota's weapons do Bonus damage to Hive MAJORS ! all 9 weapons do that@!!@!@
-
For this week I'd prefer using my time in iron banner
-
Takes too long and the rewards arent worth the effort
-
Beat Skolas last night and really? That's all I get lol? I literally have no ambition to run it again and use 20 heavy ammo synths again for this crap.
-
I have no need for a rocket launcher that does bonus damage to shanks
-
Its easy its just BORING
-
It's boring. It was fun at first, then burning him got boring. Then they changed it. It became kinda fun for a few runs. Then got boring again..
-
It's a grind to get to him, And the rewards don't match the effort required.
-
Because ESO online all week. Than flawless trials than back to ESO. PoE isn't worth it
-
Skolas is a punk... Easy asf to beat.. But no point since he offers crap rewards
-
Edited by mike miz: 6/30/2015 11:36:41 AMI'd say no checkpoints. I have gotten to Skolas pretty quick but have a bit of trouble beating him. After trying for a couple of hours and having people drop off because it's late, makes it tough to try again for myself. I've had him down to the mine phase a few times but ended up getting wiped. I still never beat him yet but try like once a week. I probably need to git gudder.
-
Nothing, I've been doing it since patch
-
It's not that bad..if you can't beat it with your fire team then one of you is holding the others down..it's not that hard anymore
-
Played for 3 hours. We did really good our first try. Our third try we got closest. We got up to mines three times out of like 6 tries. It just was too long and since there's no checkpoints, no elder cipher for me.
-
The fact that o don't want to do it
-
I do it every week
-
Nothing ;)

Raid = chance of highest level armor, weapons, ships, sparrows, shaders, materials and even exotic weapons Raid = multiple checkpoints so you can leave and resume the fight another day --- POE 35 = chance to get an exotic cypher POE (any) = play until you beat it or have to quit, regardless of what time it is or how much work you have invested. --- Regular Bounties = chance at an exotic bounty If you are already 34 with multiple pieces of armor at that level that you can swap out; what inventive is there to fight a bullet sponge boss while tap dancing through light switching ads?
-
Edited by Spawn_osk: 6/29/2015 9:51:00 PMRunning it with clan mates its easy but LFG teams turn this into hours of grind...maybe it will be different when everyone has the complete Fallen armor set. Also we should be able to trade cyphers for elemental primaries...say 9 for 1 and you can choose. Currently still running it 3 times a week just to get cores for chances at armor.
-
My thing is that it takes to much time to fight him. I can just do 2 34s and have 2 chances for an elder cipher by the time an ok team can beat skolas once. Yes I know ciphers are granted almost every time on 35 but it's just a huge waist of time because most the the bounty guns suck on most activities
-
It's not hard to do but the chances of getting a reward from him are so low it's not worth the time and the weapons are poor
-
Nothing keeps me from beating skolas 3 times a week and I have all 3 cipher weapons and all HoW weapons including primaries with elemental damage, it's just fun to do
-
I don't see a "no friends" option here.....
-
+1 level cap is annoying. Combined with the time commitment and lackluster rewards, I chose not to even attempt Skolas. Not that I cant take him down, he's fairly simple, especailly now that the burns are gone, but I just dont want to waste 3 hours fighting ads who are artificially bullet sponges...
-
We have done it 2x and went pretty smooth and still took big blocks of time with no way to save. 1 cipher complete, may go for a 2nd but doesn't seem worth it for the side arm and the elemental primary drop rate is sounding pretty low.
