So, you'll be butthurt because there will be other 34s running around who maybe didn't earn all their Etheric Light through end game content?
Firstly, we're talking about 1 or 2 more Etheric Lights a week. Hardly Earth shattering, game breaking, life altering amounts.
Secondly, not everyone dedicates their life to Destiny, like it appears you might. Some of us have families and jobs and mortgages. Maybe some people haven't had the luck or opportunities you've had to earn enough Etheric Light. This gives them a little better chance.
Thirdly, -blam!- you, don't be such an elitist asshole. How I play doesn't have any outcome on how you play. I don't play ToO so I won't be bothering you.

Kind of ruins the game's progressive balance, yeah. Just like before any expansion, and during the first expansion, you got to the cap by playing ANY of the end-game contents. They've already made it far easier than in the past. If you were not playing any of those end game contents, there was no purpose to getting to the cap in the first place. The only point to getting to a higher level is EXPRESSLY to play the raids, PoE, Iron Banner, and trials. PoE, besides the level 35 round, doesn't take that long at all. I've done the 32 and the 34 several times before in just under an hour (per character). That's an Armor core, weapon, core, and a piece of Etheric Light, that's two out of 4 pieces you need to reach the cap, 3/4 if you have an ascended exotic (which is easier to get). It probably take you LONGER to earn the 200 marks than it would to just play PoE. BTW, there's also a 5th way to Etheric Light. Rank up in PoE, it has a chance to drop from Varik's packages in rank 3 and up. It's easy enough as it is. I don't play trials either, tried it once at the beginning of HoW's and haven't played it since (or PvP at all in a month, for that matter). It's very much in Destiny's game design that to reach the cap, you have to play the end game activities, it's been like that from the start.

I didn't read the wall of text. But I will say this and be done. This is meant as a supplement. It is labor intensive and time consuming. It has an automatic cap of 1 a week for vanguard/crucible marks. It would be massively time consuming to use this as the main way to obtained Etheric Light. I'm sorry that you want to shut out people looking for another way to obtain certain items in this game. This wouldn't ruin your PoE or ToO. But you can believe it would if you like. Good day.
