Etheric light

I've seen on the forums that the Trials are good for etheric. Anyone had experience of this, is it a reward at a specific success level ? I'm okay at PVP, I'd be quite happy running trials and doing ok if I got etheric light at the end of it. Or is it potential reward like a strike ?

Isn't it a random drop still. Best bet for Eteric Light guaranteed (PvP wise) is IB.
