Although this is an old, already discussed problem, I believe that we can still change. I feel that the majority of players that play Destiny are under the appropriate age for shooters. I think this age should be 18 and over. I'll give you a few reasons.
1)It causes traumatic situations. I for one do not want my child flinching and screaming away every time they see somebody holding a sword.
2) It causes anti-social instincts to grow. When you think about it, the average session a child will play in Destiny is three to four hours. That's three to four hours where the only communication the are getting is with people they have met over the Internet. I don't want children growing older and being scared of every person they see.
3) It teaches them bad words. Every lobby I go into, there is always that person (usually a child) screaming curse words for no good reason. Where did they find out these words? From older players. If there was a minimum age, you would not have this problem. Children are getting angrier because of this game.
4) My final reason is that it causes violence. No 10 year old should be able to make another creatures head explode, or shoot other players virtually. What happens when that transfers to the real world? That anger and frustration would lead to much property being desecrated including
Mailbox Baseball
Laser Tag
TPing Houses
Egging Cars
Multiple holes in the wall from being punched.
ANY PERSON who do not follow these rules should be arrested with a minimum 2 year sentence.
Thank you all for the support you give me. I believe that a change to only 18 year olds and over would make the worlds youth safer and more intelligent than currently.

I played waw at 6 with my brother he helped me learn it was a game and we loved it it was some of the only time we spent with each other and it was fun. Games are a let go from the world a refresh. I don't know about you but I don't play games with the shear intention to murder. I play to laugh enjoy life violence is violence you talk about your child being afraid of violence or shielding them from bad words guess what happens when that kid goes to school. I guaranteed hat people cuss at that school. And traumatic experiences? I'm guessing you watch the news so you know that the world is cruel and violent so stop trying to hide that. And you think video game killing makes people want to murder others? Anyone who's anyone knows a game is a game and the world is the world there different. If someone does kill someone claiming it was because of a game there was a problem with them anyways. Granted I mean no disrespect by this also I'm 13.

I agree!!!

0.0 LASER TAG? KIDS PLAY LAZER TAG?

THE VIOLENCE

brw this game is rated T for TEEN not M for MATURE
What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
-
Thank you for stating what clearly needs to be said. I know playing GoldenEye as a kid turned me into a complete hooligan, focused on nothing but keeping my grades up, spending time with friends, and reading during my non-gaming hours.
-
You are a moron. I have a 6 yr old who has been playing fps's since he was 2. He knows the difference between a game and real life, is a completely normal kid with no violence issues and he even goes outside and plays sports. What is the difference between playing with action figures and playing with digital action figures? Nothing. Get a clue and do something useful with your time instead of trying to parent other people's kids.

Wait, laser tag? Trollapalooza

It's not for us to determine. It's the ESRB rater's job to determine that. However, it's obvious Bungie tailored this game to accommodate a larger pool of players by making it T instead of M. I still enjoy it even though it doesn't have the cussing and blood/gore, which is rare for a FPS to be good game play without these. Follow the money.
-
i'm 13 Years old I can see Clearly whats right and Wrong.
-
I wish it was rated M. So I can see blood and violence and real drama about space wars, alien fights, and thorough dialogue with profanity. But that's why I have Halo for. That's what makes it more interesting. Oh well lol.
-
This is so stupid I'm 15 and I can tell what's right and wrong I shouldn't go to jail for playing video games and my best friends and I can play together every day because of video games
-
So, you're serious? Please tell me you're kidding.
-
It's rated T. It's not like the 7 year olds running around CoD
-
Two years? That's it? Let's make it life in prison. And lets gouge their eyes out and cut out their tongues so they can neither see nor speak. But let's leave the ears. Yes, leave the ears so they can hear the children scream in horror. Then and only then will we get our point across. We must rule with fear and an iron fist! Blood alone moves the wheels of history!!! This has worked out well for anyone who has ever tried it.
on second thought this is a silly idea
Ignorance is bliss.

Get off the games cause kids to be violent bullshit. I play with my son all my f the time and it's a great father son bonding time. We enjoy it. Please remove yourself from consuming valuable oxygen and water that I may need later on. Take your conservative bull shit ideas somewhere else.
-
You are right. I saw a nightmare on elm street when I was 8 and I fùcking killed 3 people with 5 butter knives that I taped to my hand with duck tape. I can't even watch someone spread butter on a sandwich without the trauma making me flinch.
-
I've been playing shooters since I was 11. I played them because my friends did and I had nothing else to play. If I was 30 I'd be more scared of my kids playing Witcher or Dragon Age.
-
This is one of the dumbest things I have ever read. Keep it up, I enjoy the giggles Btw my 8 yr son and me play destiny together all the time, so call the police cause I guess I'm going to jail. #scrub4life

Edited by Strutherss: 8/14/2015 3:58:41 PMDestiny is 16+. If any 16 or 17 year old has or develops these problems, the fault lies with you for not noticing it sooner, because they clearly have some sort of mental development issue. Any normal 12 year old is able to tell you that games aren't real. They'll come on Destiny after doing their homework, have fun with their friends and forget about the stresses of high school. Not go murder someone because they think they're ridding the world of the Darkness.

Edited by SanGWeeE: 8/14/2015 4:17:50 PMDidn't read it.How about you stop worrying about others lives, worry about trying to get one yourself. Edit:Just read it.If Destiny causes violence then does surgeon simulator make me a certified surgeon?Does playing minecraft make me a Architect?Does playing sims make me friends? Therefore you are wrong

If you removed the underage players from Destiny. It would probably die. I draw this conclusion from the ghorn related posts today. Obviously I'm not taking physical age into account here just mental age.
