Although this is an old, already discussed problem, I believe that we can still change. I feel that the majority of players that play Destiny are under the appropriate age for shooters. I think this age should be 18 and over. I'll give you a few reasons.
1)It causes traumatic situations. I for one do not want my child flinching and screaming away every time they see somebody holding a sword.
2) It causes anti-social instincts to grow. When you think about it, the average session a child will play in Destiny is three to four hours. That's three to four hours where the only communication the are getting is with people they have met over the Internet. I don't want children growing older and being scared of every person they see.
3) It teaches them bad words. Every lobby I go into, there is always that person (usually a child) screaming curse words for no good reason. Where did they find out these words? From older players. If there was a minimum age, you would not have this problem. Children are getting angrier because of this game.
4) My final reason is that it causes violence. No 10 year old should be able to make another creatures head explode, or shoot other players virtually. What happens when that transfers to the real world? That anger and frustration would lead to much property being desecrated including
Mailbox Baseball
Laser Tag
TPing Houses
Egging Cars
Multiple holes in the wall from being punched.
ANY PERSON who do not follow these rules should be arrested with a minimum 2 year sentence.
Thank you all for the support you give me. I believe that a change to only 18 year olds and over would make the worlds youth safer and more intelligent than currently.

Edited by Goldstar 45: 8/17/2015 12:07:38 AMMost 12 year olds already know bad words and have played halo and we live in an age of war so your point is invalid and I'm 12

I've been reading a lot of the posts and no one has agreed with what you said yet... Just saying
-
If you don't think your child is mature enough, do not buy him/her this game. He/she does not have a job, he/she cannot have this without your consent. ESRB exists for a reason. If this game were dangerous in general, a child under 18 would not be allowed to purchase it.

No. 1 made no sense and the shoot a person in real life made no sense that really only has to do with parenting
-
I don't hear curses/blood splatter going everywhere.

Obvious troll is obvious...

Edited by ClassicReynolds: 8/16/2015 1:51:35 AMOr maybe adults should be parents. Take responsibility for you kids and teach them right from wrong. Stop trying to be right and get it right. I'm tired of all this political correctness Bullshit. Show your kids to respect and have discipline. Stop trying to push your baggage on to others.
-
It's meant for teens witch I can see, I for one am only 12 and this game really helps me relieve some stress when I really want to shoot someone in my nerves at the moment. But it's non gory kills like gta, which I do not at btw meaning kids aren't going to think that oh it must be really fun to do that in real life too. And when not in the crucible it's animated blood against fantasy characters, and that's obviously not what happens in rl. So no harm done.

I can only imagine you as a christian extremest for some reason. not to mention you really need to look up the facts and studies between violence and video games, and i mean studies, not fox news or media stuff that are bias. as for cussing, lol we all learn that in school
-
While I would agree with you overall, people need to remember, unlike cod, this has a t rating, if you are 13+ IT IS FINE to play, I don't care if your reliably high pitched, the game is meant for teens, saying this I am not even close to 13, but it has too be said, the young ones have a right to play as well
-
No, it actually stops us from taking our anger out on real people, helps social skills, teach us about teamwork or independence and more (Teen here)
-
Laser tag = desecrated property?
-
It should be for Teenagers and up. Not 10 year olds and up. But it's not a rated M game so i don't see the problem. If teenagers handle an M game well and are acting mature about everything in it, they teens can play anything. But little kids...no.
-
You my sir have ZERO chill, two years for playing a game with violence....
-
Your just as bad as -blam!-ing fox or whatever attacked destiny through the news.
-
Destiny is teen lol
-
It's rated teen. I'm pretty sure that means 13+.
-
Umm no it is rated teen for a reason and technically there is no violence it is basically paintball guns in crucible
-
Some people can go full retard. You just did that
-
Anti social people don't need a vehicle. They are that way already. I've been playing since Atari. I turned out just fine.

If you have a kid i truly feel sorry for them.

Edited by Apollo: 8/14/2015 4:12:37 PMDo you not realize this game is rated T for teen, or are you just... no what the hell are you thinking

I played waw at 6 with my brother he helped me learn it was a game and we loved it it was some of the only time we spent with each other and it was fun. Games are a let go from the world a refresh. I don't know about you but I don't play games with the shear intention to murder. I play to laugh enjoy life violence is violence you talk about your child being afraid of violence or shielding them from bad words guess what happens when that kid goes to school. I guaranteed hat people cuss at that school. And traumatic experiences? I'm guessing you watch the news so you know that the world is cruel and violent so stop trying to hide that. And you think video game killing makes people want to murder others? Anyone who's anyone knows a game is a game and the world is the world there different. If someone does kill someone claiming it was because of a game there was a problem with them anyways. Granted I mean no disrespect by this also I'm 13.
