I got back in to gaming after a 5 year hiatus
due to the appeal that Destiny provided. Firing up my white PS4 that first night and running around the Cosmodrome was the an elixir my mind needed. I was hooked from the start.
Now, fast forward through 9 months and two DLC's that brought a smattering of new material and a bunch of re-hashed gameplay and precipitous player decline - We are at a make or break moment for a game that has made 'Community' a central focus and the most used buzzword for every weekly update that I can recall.
For a developer, like Bungie, that says it supports and nourishes it's players in a top tier manner to offer an apology to it's most zealous supporters in the form of another purchase on top of what most consider a hefty sum. Well, that just sems like money hungry lackeys to the system to me.
I know I don't want to spend forty bucks on another raid and a few more bad guys to kill on existing planets (and the moon) plus perhaps maybe, some object in the rings of Saturn -or miracle of miracles - Saturn itself! I sure as hell don't want to spend twenty bucks on a few digital trinkets that newcomers can get for dropping ten bucks extra.
Bungie, while the Guardians in the Destiny universe realize the need for fresh blood in the game, it is time to get it together and appreciate the clans, groups, squadrons, companies, and lone wolves that have helped make this game so great. We love what you have done but fear for where it is going.
Make it right.
