If you and everybody else could choose what you got every time, do you think you'd still be playing?

Yeah actually If I know my effort = reward I want, I would keep running it. I would keep playing.

I believe the point was that you would have received everything you wanted long ago and stopped playing.

I stopped playing for two months because I wasn't getting what I wanted though. It removes any sort of motivation because I was (still am) never certain if I would be getting something worthwhile.

I'm going to say that wouldn't be the case for so many others. Then there's no struggle to beat things, it's easy mode. That for me takes away from the game.

The game was never difficult in the first place. It never was and it never will be. Pvp is the most difficult aspect of Destiny. Everything else is the same repetitive thing, occasionally with a gimmick. All you ever need is coordination and teamwork. Randomized rewards are a terrible system because it's not rewarding performance nor effort. It's rewarding participation. No reason to try hard if you get shit rewards in the end. But everyone has a different opinion
