I have been debating for the longest time now as to whether or not I should become a Jew. My dilemma stems from the fact that I'm gay and I'm not sure whether I should be a part of religious communities. I have been wanting to convert to become a reform Jew. Reform Jews do not believe the Tanakh (Hebrew bible) to be the word of G-d. I too do not believe it to be the word of G-d, but I do believe in a G-d. Reform Jews (and a couple of other sects) do mostly support gays, but every time I see an ignorant comment like "Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve" I start to question am I doing the right thing. I don't even know what I'm asking to be honest. Maybe is it stupid to be gay and religious?

Being gay is a sin. Lying is a sin. All sin is said to be equal. Supporting homosexuality is therefore wrong. Supporting the homosexual individual is right, in the religion.
