The Taken King and Pricing: You need to read this.
An article from Eurogamer interviewing The Taken King creative director Luke Smith.
A quick excerpt:
Interviewer: "I'm not going to mention them again. I can't get them." (He's talking about the new emotes)
Luke Smith: "But you can if you buy the Collector's Edition."
Interviewer: "I'm not going to buy the game and the two DLCs all over again."

I wanted to add that after reading the article, it annoyed me how Luke Smith was avoiding answering certain questions. His attitude came off as not really caring about much except trying to make a sale.
I think the interviewer did a fantastic job not holding back questions. And when the response to questions is what we've seen today, it's interesting. Do I really want to give this man $40? At this point, I don't want to spend another dime on Destiny.
In closing, I will continue to play Destiny. I've been playing since the beta. I enjoy playing with the people I've met here. I love the character and weapon customization. There are many aspects of the game I enjoy, and yes, some of it can get repetitious. I have the game and both expansions, but I have no plans to buy The Taken King or anything else unless something changes price-wise, as well as attitude-wise from Bungie.
However, I think that if things continue the way they are, I might eventually leave like many others. I've tried to be supportive of Bungie and Destiny, even after so many ups and downs (Locked content discussions and so forth), and this is my first real experience with Bungie. It would be a shame after all of the hours and money invested, but if this is the way they plan to treat us, then there's really no point.
For anyone interested, someone has started a petition on Change.org regarding the pricing issue and fairness for all players. Feel free to sign it and share it with others.

You solely disappointed a significant majority of your player base with the content you provided to us. You, Bungie, lied to every single person about the game we were purchasing. Based on solely your name alone you made massive sales due to the previous hard work of people who are no longer with your company. There will always be a player base for this game, due to this game being a decent game. It is clear to myself and the many people in this thread who have read your contemts and experienced your lack of service that we aren't going to be duped again. The content you are working on releasing this September is beyond imperative for the future of this game and your future in the gaming industry. You are losing recognition and status that hard work and love that went into designing the amazing trilogy of Halo, which made every person who pined for this game. This interview, your "DLC" content which we now know was already on the disc, your entire actions show you care nothing about the project other than the money it brings in. There so many examples from Capcom to Sega in regards to failures I could provide. You are making a blunder on the scale of Microsoft's announcement for the Xbox 1 at the E3 announcement. If you wish your game to continue to be a success, if you wish to be more than lip servicing charlatan, carpetbagger stuffing their pockets and running for the door. Take a step back and look at what you are doing before making your next announcement to the gaming community. It is not impossible to provide new emotes to individuals without making them buy the same content again. We know you are lying. Stop treating us as morons. I implore you Bungie, give us the Destiny we were sold, not sad...money driven freemium you've created.
