So whilst this storm is raging I thought I'd express one of my main frustrations with the gameplay as a consistent Raid/PoE player.
With TTK and the talk of custom actions I'd really like to understand why people feel they're important to the game? I personally couldn't care less about sitting, pointing or dancing. What I would like however is the opportunity to use that space on my controller for something useful!
Please allow us to customise the use of the d-pad and bind other functionality to each direction.
I've been killed raiding or doing PoE 35 popping a heavy synth too many times and the result of this can mean your raid squad dropping a flawless, or wiping 15+ minutes of play time (per player!).
If I could bind a heavy, special, primary synth and specify another gun in a slot (to change burns) I'd be all over it.
Unsure if this has been suggested before and what the response was, but I'd love to understand why that isn't possible.
Cheers

Bump. This idea has been asked for since day one..but you know...Bunghole listens to it's players...Then says -blam!- you!

I've posted about this as well. Combat zones should have customizable dpad. Plain and simple. I can tbag after I kill skolas and I feel just as triumphant as I do dancing, only tbagging doesn't take up useful space on my controller.

Should be hold SQUARE for 3 seconds if you have that weapon equipped - the D pad is fine for emotes - just throw money at the screen guys !

It be much better if it was just "Hold reload while out of ammo" Want to use a Heavy synth? Hold out your empty heavy weapon and hold the reload button. That way we can keep emotes AND have a way to not have to pause to get our synths. OR Pull out ghost and and have more stuff binded there. Hold ___ to use Synth on held weapon. Or use the Up and Down D-pad too cycle through consumables and Hold ____ to use. Stuff like that. I personally use the Emotes to communicate with even friends because during the week as I can't talk late at night without disturbing my girlfriend.

D-up hold- primary ammo synthesis D-left hold- Secondary ammo synthesis D-right hold- Heavy ammo synthesis D-down hold- summon sparrow Press gamepad- display bounty progress, ammo cooldowns, team mate health Hold gamepad- open settings

That's going to be added to the next release. FTC (Fleece The Customer), where you'll have to re-buy the game, all the dlc, TTK and all its dlc to get that feature. You'll also have to reassign the dpad keys after each use. Oh, and it's only availability when pre-ordered.

Edited by iDovahBear: 6/25/2015 2:11:32 AMI've made a similar thread and got a few thumbs up, but you're getting more traction so let's hope this gets somewhere. Social actions have a place in the Tower and I suppose in the lower level content, but Arena on 35/(34) and (Hard) Raids is where it gets tricky. Mostly on older consoles where load times are through the roof (almost literally.) Also they should fix how Synthesis works. I was able to burn a Synthesis when I had full Heavy Ammo already. I'll admit it was a dumb mistake on my part, I forgot I had used the Heavy Crate from the previous Arena room, but it also just shouldn't be possible. Also, I'm not sure if this is a change or if I just never truly noticed, but using it while dead is allowed but will not revitalize your Heavy Ammo stores upon spawning in. A few of these things and the keybinding could/should be applied together for best results.<3

Bump!, even opening the menu is laggy these days..

Awesome idea

Holding X when the rockets are empty would be a batter way to PPP a synth.

Man I heavily agree on this, Lost a perfect Raider because one died while waiting 2 minutes for the damn inventory screen to load and show the stuff. It seems every time me or anybody else enters the inventory it takes more time to load and display.

synth is a great idea, hadn't thought of that. I have hoped rather than a stupid dance I could bind a weapon buildout to the d-pad. Imagine having your CQB loadout up and firing, then switch to a sniping loadout with the push of a button. No having to stop down to go to the menu, wait for the icons to load (may just be a PS3 issue), and then choose the right guns and get back to battle.

I have been asking for this since day one. Also weapon switching via the dpad

this a thousand times over

AGREED. And community has been asking for useful functionality from D-pads forever. It wouldn't have to be from this old picture from a poll created forever ago. But Christ it's been long enough. Good post op.
