After the horrible Luke Smith interview it has become clear to me that Bungie doesn't give a shit about anything but money. Many of us have put a lot of effort into fighting for optional matchmaking on these forums and I just feel like Bungie is sitting back, collecting money, and having a good laugh.

Here’s what I have a hard time with. They say no optional matchmaking for end game content because only a well working team can beat the difficult end game content but that’s simply not true. Players teaming with strangers via the forums here and on LFG make it through end game content all the time. For me, that’s about the only way I can do raids and strikes.. and by saying “go make friends” it’s the same thing as rolling the dice in an optional matchmaking mode. The friends I do play with I met on the recruitment forum or on LFG.. It’s a crap shoot either way So their defense for not allowing optional making is blown out of the water IMO.. Using the recruitment forum and LFG is a PITA! Post looking for a game, get a response, go through the “find player” crap, send an invite and hope. By not offering matchmaking for end game content they are saying either don’t play the end game content at all OR go use a 3rd party site for matchmaking. Why not at least make it optional for something that almost everyone on destiny is already doing via 3rd party sites? Make it an option guys! If a player using matchmaking can’t complete raids or poe with who you get matched with… no big deal! Just switch to the invite system and use your own team. Why not least give us the option? What does it hurt? What does it take away from the experience? There have been several times I wanted to do a raid and simply couldn’t because I couldn’t find enough people to play so I just turned off the game or played something else. I’m not asking for free shaders or ½ price DLC.. I’m just asking to have an option that lets me play raids and POE when I want to instead of trying to go 3rd party sites and eventually turning off the game because I can’t get enough people. The old “End game content is too difficult for matchmaking” argument is stale and weak.. The recruitment forums here and on LFG have proven that it’s complete b.s. anyway. So just give us the option and let us decide if it works for us or not. Is that really too much to ask for?

I'd much rather pay $20 for omm than a couple shaders and emotes... But really, it should be in the game already without us having to pay for it. It's a basic feature of every game that has any sort of team play....

Bump.

Content will be offered in micro transactions but not features like that

Omfng, lol. This post just made my night. You should link these to me when you write gold like this :)

The problem is with matchmaking is what happens when nobody speaks the same language. Or people just sit there and do nothing we need a vote to kick system too

I'd play the raids more often if I didn't have to LFG. I can always find guys to run it with, but it's still a pain. Me: VoG? Rando1: Sure Rando2: You got Ghorn? Me: No Rando2: No thanks Rando3:No Response Me: Rando1, you got other guys who want to play. Rando1: No Rando4: Still LFG for VoG? Me: Yep, join in Rando4 joins in Rando4: Ghorn? Me: No. Rando4 leaves team Rando5: I'll play Me: Great, we need 4 more Rando5: Sorry, It's only me Rando6: Sorry, you're not a 34 Rando7: I've got 2 guys Me: Great, join up It goes on like this for a while. Eventurally I get to run VoG.

Why torture yourself? There are plenty of good games available now to play. Ditch Destiny and try something different.

We want it badly enough that we'll throw money at the screen. ;-)

Edited by BoomerSooner51: 6/25/2015 7:27:19 PMOkay, so I get why they think matchmaking is bad in theory. I get that they think Raids and Nightfalls are the hardest content in this game and that a group of random players won't be able to conquer these tasks. I don't buy the bullshit that this is some ridiculous method to force us to "make friends." I've used LFG for several raids and have had some really bad experiences and a few really good experiences. LFG is basically 3rd party matchmaking. It's still random. You don't know these people. But now I've got to go somewhere else to find players to group up with. If we had matchmaking you could dive right in to this content with random people and at least start playing. It almost seems like Bungie is buying their own hype that their end game content is so difficult that only a well oiled machine can accomplish it so they believe there's no way matchmaking would work and that it's not even worth their time. This is both stupid and shortsighted. Let people jump right into the content and play. These artificial barriers are the height of ignorance.

Edited by D1eThx: 6/24/2015 5:55:15 PMOptional MM isn't going to happen. after that interview, it's crystal clear they have no clue or care about what the average person can stretch to for a game.

Edited by Cash_Knightly: 6/25/2015 5:44:28 AMSee my post in feedback... I would repost but no need to spam or hijack this thread. Yes, all they care about is money. It is a business. However to what degree of greed they have seems to be quite evident. Bungie, did you get caught with your pants down? We just happened to be told the truth and it does appear hard for a lot of us to take. I was shocked at first like most of us but have gotten over it pretty quickly. I just plan to not give them anymore money. What, spend money on a game that clearly does not have the best interest of its players in mind? Not me, mmmmuuuuaaaaahhhhhh! Pay for matchmaking? No sir, not me. I paid for that already. Why pay for something that the company claims the game already has? Why can't every game mode have matchmaking? It can, they just choose to not offer it because they suck. Could they have a toggle for you to turn on matchmaking or turn it off, YOU BETCHA. Why don't they, well, they suck. Could they make a toggle for each game mode to switch matchmaking on and off??? OH YOU BETCHA!!! WHY DON'T THEY? I'll let you guys come to that conclusion. Have you seen the recent post by HeatBlaze27? It's quite awesome!

Matchmaking isn't happening. Which is why I've wandered off. Stopped by the forum cause I heard something about a bad interview. Sad to see you still plugging for matchmaking. You're wasting your time. Bungie has shown you daily they don't care.

Optional matchmaking is such an obvious solution, it literally hurts to think that we're still going on without it. Regarding the amount of money one must throw: Calculating the REAL value I've broken down each item and calculated what I believe to be fairer prices for the exclusive content based on Bungie's own values acording to their bundle prices. If you be so kind as to check it out, I'd really appreciate your feedback.

BUMP! We NEED to have some form of optional matchmaking. So tired of using polluted LFG sites.
