It actually does alot because if it is unanimous, it will be all over the media and their stock will plummet dramatically and they may or may not recover from it. It messes with their investment power and highlights them as a high* risk company to invest in despite the sales numbers. Public opinion trumps everything, it is a powerful tool.

Ah that makes a ton of sense. I didn't really look at it that way. I wonder if it may do more harm than good?

Edited by R-E-D-C-E-L-L: 6/23/2015 7:18:32 PMIt did alot of good for Final Fantasy A Realm Reborn, remember? People lashed out and condemned the game, crushing Square Enix's outing as a piece of trash and Square Enix was forced to go back to the drawing board and deliver a real game with a huge apology and lots of effort and resources went into the humble process of regaining the trust of their fans. And now the game's customer base is absolutely elated and happy with the product and their developers, still to this day. These companies are multi billion dollar firms that can afford to reconcile their bullshit mistakes, they just want that money in their pockets and would rather thumb their noses at us and tell us to deal with it, hoping this will blow over rather than face the reality that they are in the crosshairs of a marketing disaster.

I hope something like that happens in this case!
